Getting this strong vibe that you're not enjoying this car at all... if you're driving something that makes you worry about running costs all the time then I don't think it's a car for you and if you think your car is already outdated then it's definitely not for you. If you're buying a car for the aesthetics you're going to get bored of your car REAL quick because there are constantly new cars/models coming out every year that's going to have more power, more technology & better looking. Good luck! You should get something that's gonna put a smile on your face every time you get in and not think about all the $$$ thats involved.

You don't seem to very enthusiastic about the car! All I can say is that I've had mine for 3 years, I have added a tuning chip, a bigger air intake, and a bigger intercooler. I take it to the track and drive it hard once a month. Only one single fault - a thermostat that was replaced under warranty. It's been so good that I've ordered a new one, mainly for the race mode and the diff lock. I love the car.

Steve Givelas this car consumes less gas than my old 2011 Mazda 3.. my CLA45 is 2017 but i can get over 30mpg with some full throttle on the freeway.. this car is probably the highest MPG for a performance car period. For you to get very low mpg, you have to either have a bad habit of driving such as unnecessary brake, unnecessary high throttle or you full throttle all the time. This car can consume as little gas as a Camry if you have good driving habit. Not to mention the car has start/stop mode in traffic and “sailing” mode where you cruising along which saves tremendous gas.

yeah the mpg point is not something you can justify hating if your car is 350 hp. once upon a time when I owned a 2017 gla 45, the gas mileage was one of its best features!

Those 5 reasons for selling will be applied to anything else in this segment. Have you considered a leasing option. Side note, are ALL cars today disposable? Seems no one wants to keep anything outside the short warranty, and the manufacturers that offer a standard 5yr or more warranty aren't "premium: enough.

Yeah, was going to buy one, but the turbo blowing is really my concern. That and the lag on the start..leaning towards a 435 or m series bmw.

Mine has been awesome. 2014 and almost 80k miles with pretty much no issues. The maintenance costs from mercedes dealer is insane but other than that it's a great car.

@@mr-silver8558 If you go to Mercedes dealerships it's very expensive. Cheapest service i've had is $600 and I was quoted $1800 for my 80k mile service. If you have your own mechanic it's not so bad and I have had 0 issues so besides brake pads and rotors, I never put any money into the car.

Been looking at one of these for a while….trouble is it’s 4 or 5x more than my current car, I’ve got the c350cdi, it’s got 620nm of torque, ok not as fast 0-60 as the cla, but I can get over 60mpg on a run…..love the cla but don’t think it’s 4 or 5x the car…..???

Mother is going for a CLA Shooting break. Our dealership offer is 43.000€ for the 200d, is this to much? Take in consideration i am in Portugal and prices are a lot higher then UK.

el Mikas depends on the extra‘s.. i got my cla shooting brake 180 WITH amg line for about 42.000€.. so well, it depends.. i think it‘s quite much for a car without any extras. I‘m from austria by the way.

the gas consuption on this is one of the best existing on performance cars, 360 hp and you can average 10-13 km/l on regular driving!!

Buying this car in my country it's good to use it as it is new but after few years it not worth due to car becoming order, fuel not cheaper also, parts also won't cheaper as its already order...

I don’t own a Mercedes CLA class, to me it doesn’t matter which CLA year or trim you have it all looks the same. The only thing different is the exhaust note and take off speeds :)

The car on the outside looks great and imo better than the new shape, but compared to the new ones the interior is very dated.

Those issues that you discuss are very minor and happens to many brands in warranty and that's just what warranty is for. The only concerning thing for me in these cars is the gearbox but even then I've never actually read about one completely failing at all. Some car brands have had gearboxes that actually explode gears! This one has none of that but must admit the gearbox is my concern. There are like zero reports of any engine failure so it's a beast in that department. Very few if any reports of faults with the brakes, or suspension. Those being the major components, they are largely bullet proof. Niggling problems sorted in warranty yes, but big ticket items so far non existent even with 100k km CLA's.

Turbos are a very common issue with this engine - to get this amount of power from such a small engine the boost pressure is ran at a very high level and I have known plenty of them to go from other owners

Zubair Hoque OK yeh that's true. I've seen those reports but also all sorted under warranty and usually found in warranty and I do believe that a factory recall went out for it. I think they sorted it for the facelift though (I've got one with 30k km and even run a piggyback tune and it goes pretty hard now). So it was sorted, I'm quite sure. It's a good point though that you make, I did forget about that one. Even then though, honestly I'd be very happen if I owned this car for say 5 years and the only thing that went bang on me was the turbo. New one plus install, so long as you don't go with merc, can probably be had for around $2.5k which isn't so bad for a longer term ownership and a sports car in expensive brand. Sorry to draw a hypothetical there. I agree, you're right. Turbos blown on the earlier CLA's is at thing. Get one replaced under warranty and you should be all sorted there.

Buying my CLA AMG MODEL 2018 one today in cavansite blue. Am I choosing the best colour or does anyone have any suggestions for colours other than the cavansite blue. I don’t like white , and not sure a silver one would show of the chrome . Colours I like are black, grey , blue and all of these will be metallic paint. Can anyone give some advice [ I can change the colour at a later date, so I value your opinions , Cheers from Luca .

How bad can fuel really be? U say 40mpg on the motorway so I’m assuming mid 20’s in town? I drive a C63 and i regularly get 12mpg in town and live with it - it’s minor.. think u should get another diesel!

This car is its entry level amg. Still a nice 🚗. Step up e 63 amg I have zero problems. Its a 2018 . 0 to 60 3.8 sec.

At legal speed, on Belgian roads, driving short distances in town requires twice as much gaz than longer trips... with EU policy, my next car will be full thermic, European and with a serious engine (might be the last), seriously thinking about GLA AMG 45 s suitable as à family car, Mercedes-amg will replace many V8 by electrified V4 in the near future, good for the future service on the V4! The paradox, for the health of my engine, I will use more walk and public transport for my small moves! I know it will be expensive (the cost of tires is just one example) , the price to pay for pleasure cars that will soon not be available anymore ! If the décision had to be the more rational and cheapest possible with a good car, I would dig in the KIA catalogue...and its 7 years waranties.

i dont mean to be rude and seeing this is over a year old... sounds like you didnt do much research before buying. Within the basics of course, i mean cm'on... you should known a 2.0 4cyl pumping 350+hp wont be getting great gas mileage. As well as these cars not having the best transmission/turbo life. I mean this video is a matter of doing your research. These cars are phenomenal but these types of videos scare off enthusiasts.

Zubair Hoque I bought it 4 months ago and made some longer and some shorter Trips and i wouldnt Buy it again cause of its Price... the Cla 45 is Not a 40.000€ car. You feel it when its cold especially when the plastik rings in the cockpit make noise And start crackling. The Second Reason is the small guy in the gearbox that kicks in my ass everytime it Shifts slowly down at a Traffic light when u reduce the Speed. The transmission in Comfort is so awfull... when u Push the Gas pedal down to soft it wouldnt move and if u push to hard it shoots u down the Street 😂 Man i guess i‘m to old for this car.. im 27 and the Next will be a panamera or a SUV i Need more comfort. Im Sure im Not going to buy a mercedes again, as u say in this video Audi is absolutely fantastic.

BMW 5 is faster than RS3, but I would sell the Merc because I think BMW and Audi are much preetier to see in public plus they are faster, comfortable when you want it and a beast when you want it.

The CLA has an appalling quality. Just make the car feel cheap which it isn’t. Fucking AMG needs to sort their shit out. Imagine some poor bugger had to replace parts after the warranty runs out. Surely the dealer won’t cover it because most of them are just assholes.
