The Cub was my first motorcycle, 1965 model with a 50cc engine. By 1967, I was delivering 180 newspapers before class in the seventh grade. I abused this bike, and it took the abuse very well. I traded up to a Honda CL-90 Scrambler in the Summer of 1968. The Cub gave me a life time of memories at a tender young age.

I bought mine new in ‘21 and I freaking love it. I have other bikes for different purposes. I’m 63 years old and have been riding since I was 12 years old and I’m 6’ 210 pounds and look absolutely ridiculous on it but absolutely no fucks given because it’s a blast to ride to the beach and ride the coast from Oceanside to Imperial Beach. Stopping for lunch along the way. A few more ponies would be nice to haul my carcass up some of these hills we have and not revving its guts out in 3rd gear. Having said that, screw it let the cagers go around😂 This little 125 easily keeps up with traffic on surface streets even with me on it. Mine is bone stock and I plan on leaving it that way. Only have 2,700 miles on it and it’s in pristine condition. It really is a functional, practical work of art and an almost do it all motorcycle. Good video! Enjoy the Cub👍👊

I have a 2021. (red like in the video) Great urban bike. I live in a small town outside a larger city. Everything is within 3 miles. Grocery, restaurants, govt offices, banks, haircuts...etc. Speed limit never gets above 35mph. It's great for zipping around town. If you want to consistently ride over 45mph for longer distances/times, this is not your machine. It WILL hit 55mph (flat road with no wind), but it's not optimized for that kind of riding.

Props to you, thanks for sharing. I agree on all fronts. It would be lovely to see Honda give the US market a serious marketing campaign around their 125s. Here in nyc, where they make so much sense, dealers get zero bikes and I think I’ve seen maybe 2 people on Supercubs other than myself. I own a RE Himalayan, which just isn’t practical for a lot of would-be riders. The Supercub is my prized favorite, and makes commuting fun. So many people here could benefit from knowing about these bikes AND being able to purchase them. Keep up the great content!

Great reviews of the Cub and Trail 125’s, they are both iconic machines and a major part of motorcycle history. In an ideal world, I would be like you and have both but when having to chose, for me I think it’s the Trail. Mainly because it has more of a rarity value and is more easily customized with a wide range of accessories.

Awesome channel, how have I missed you before! Subscribed! I'm very close so doing something crazy and selling my CBF600 and getting a Supercub! My only concerns are stability (as I'm 6'2" and 200lb) and other folk tailgating you! Oh and I heard the brakes aren't great... 😅

I traded in a 2020 Triumph Bobber for my Trail 125, so you are in the right place 😅. Stability will be fine. I'm 5'11 185lbs, not very far off from ya. The front brake is totally fine. The rear is definitely a pretty mushy drum brake.

The SuperCub is probably an awesome bike if you live inside a city and just need to get around in that city. I've always wanted a used one. They just never took off in the US because the laws are prohibitive against mopeds by treating them as motorcycles, and the distances are so wide. You can't find used ones cheap. If you live in the country, the lack of a 55mph top speed and cargo carry capacity becomes problematic. 95% of the use of my three other Honda motorcycles is to haul groceries, so if you can't haul groceries with it, it's useless. With the Supercub I'd add a big plastic file crate cargo box on the back, a basket on the front, and/or wear a backpack. I wouldn't buy the new one, not because it's bad, but because it's wayyyyy over priced. For the same price, you can get a high end nice used actual motorcycle. I mean, Honda is asking 4000 for that. I bought a 2008 Honda Shadow Spirit 750cc recently... cherry mint almost and mostly well kept... it looks like a brand new bike... for 1900. Granted, original list price someone paid once upon a time for it was 8000. That thing will tear up an interstate. If you buy a new bike off the showroom floor, expect to be fleeced, or if you still do, keep it indoors and treat it like a diamond classic car polishing it like a diaper like Camron's dad in Ferris Buellers day off... because you paid a premium penny to get golden brand new.

I used to have 2) Tomos mopeds in mint condition. Tiered of no dampers on suspension. Jay Leno reviewed 2019 C125abs. Dealers said 50% down w/3yr wait. Googled "pre-order c125" and Orem Powersports popped up. Called dealer & was told they had two on the floor. Had it that night. Owned many motorcycles & this is my favorite. Purchased July of 2020 new & have almost 6k miles on it. Most fun with kick stand, Kajima bag frames, luggage rack and Chase Harper Aero3500 bags. Added magnetic drain plug @300mi's. Was riding with Utah Jazz Bear up State Street, he on his Harley in full costume and me on my Cub, kinda' fitting.

Like with cars, It's more fun to ride a slow bike FAST than to ride a fast bike SLOW. You get a HELL of an adrenaline rush cranking little bikes! Due to their size/weight you can get Huyabusa "kicks" from these lil' bastards while keeping legal if you're doing it right. Makes commuting a blast, not a chore! It's like .22 LR shooting. Who knew so much fun can be had for so little??! Everyone (even those use to much bigger displacement bikes) NEEDS to check out the small bikes of today! P.S. My first car (1963 Cadillac- in 1982 it was not a "classic", just an elderly used car, LOL) Got 8 MPG, Yep EIGHT. So yeah on COULD reliably 14 Super Cubs for ONE 1963 Cadillac! LOL.

Do you think this bike is powerful enough to get around a suburban environment (4-5 lane roads/45-50 MPH)? I am also looking at the Monkey and Grom. Thank you
@Dailycozwerks
@Dailycozwerks 9 ай бұрын
Of those bikes, I would choose the Super Cub if I was in your area. The Monkey feels more toy-ish. The Grom is great, but I like the bigger wheels of the Super Cub at speed. The Grom does have a manual clutch, though, so that may be something you'd like. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate your support.

In most US suburbs the Cub would be a fine choice IMHO. It LOOKS like a scooter and ACTS like a motorcycle. (it's really a motorcycle with scooter "styling cues".) It's not a port bike, but a fine commuter for city/suburb duties. That's what it's made for. The semi auto is a PLUS in this use case.

Dandy looking bikes I'll admit! But the cost is far too high in my opinion, with respect. I live in the Philippines and they run ₱182,000.00 for one. For that kind of money you can buy a set of matching 2023 honda Clicks for ₱164,000.00 and have pleanty left for lunch. And the Click also is a 125cc and much more substantial and safer looking. Again with respect, find a way to knock the price down on them to 1,200.00 usd or ₱80,000.00 range and you'd have more interest. Remember, it all comes down to price. Good 👍 luck!

It can definitely be tricky. I'm not sure where you live, but I have had success calling dealerships in more rural areas. They tend to be the ones randomly sitting on inventory. There's a manufacturing shortage, though, so if they don't already have one, them getting isn't really possible.

Why not in Canada. Love the Honda Trail 125, and would be great to have the Honda Cub 125 for the wet days or the days you are dressed up. the one thing that would be nice on it is a wind shield. It has leg protection so why not upper body as well. A second small bike would be great if a friend came over and we could hit the road together bough on a separate ride. Do not want two the same, but a Trail and a Cub would be great, COME ON HONDA BRING THE CUB TO CANADA.
