5 Reasons you should Space your Cucumber

One of those “rules” many farmers frown at is the need for proper spacing. For most farmers, that’s not necessary. By increasing space, they feel they are not maximizing their farmland. It’s considered a huge waste.
However, like every other good agricultural practice in cultivating cucumbers (or any crop for that matter), you could get lucky and occasionally make a good harvest without consciously using recommended spacing. But there are reasons and benefits to employing good farm practices to ensure optimal yield from your farm.
So, in this video, I wish to help you see why you need to space your cucumber farm.

Hi @oluyemialpheus48! Within a bed, we recommend up to 50cm spacing between plants. However, some factors could affect that. For instance, if you lay a 30cm drip tape, your spacing would have to adjust. Does this help?

Good video but you never said what the spacing distance is you just said space space space

The idea of the video was to help you use the factors given in making your decision. However, a good spacing distance should be about 40-50cm. If the vines are well pruned, 30cm isn't bad.

Thanks for your observation. This video was created to address the advantages of proper spacing The recommended spacing is 50cm. However some farmers use 30cm because of the spacing on their drip tapes. Please watch out for the release of our beginner's training videos on cultivating some vegetables including cucumber.
