Love this! Awesome tips. Have you ever met a female entrepreneur who DIDN’T struggle with this?? (They’re a rare bird!) We want to run so hard so that no one could ever accuse us of being “salesy.” I don’t think it’s actually our sales techniques that make us feel that way though. I think we need to change our mindset about sales in the first place! I actually just made a vid as well to show how and why we need to shift some thinking in order to break through this idea. Great content as always Vanessa ❤

Just discovered you yesterday and stayed up all night perusing your videos! Love your charming presence. Infectious little dance caught me by surprise. 4.38 I saw that! The Elvira mouth with tilt of the head with the "What? You still watching?" and the wrists flipping down. Classic Elvira! Now, what does that flippant gesture mean in body language? To me, it's a put down - silly, stupid, not to be taken seriously, etc. I played some games with coworkers to help them be more aware and reduce "stuff" they take home. Equal time bitching & complaining, equal time to complimenting & gratitude. I used muscle testing (from kinesiology), eyes and mouth wide open and closed. We used inner and outer (others') thoughts, words and gestures, movements. Palms up and sweeping energy up the meridian (chakras), gratitude, smiles from others all tested strong. The reverse tested weak. Palms down sweeping energy down the chakras, "I can't" I hate my job" "My arthritis doesn't hurt anymore (3 negatives here)" "Don't spill the milk!" "No!" all tested weak, eg weakened (drain) the body, and "I can" "My job is really OK" "My left hip feels free and flexible" and "Enjoy the milk and cookies Love Mom" "Yes!" all tested strong. We also tested love and hate in water a la Emoto style. Love made the water taste different, has substance, life, sweeter, or are we just more aware & grateful? Unspoken. B wrote a message on folded paper to put in her pocket. She hurt more! What did you do! And was mad mad mad after she read it "hurts more". Then another folded message went in her pocket. She felt 100% better. Pulled out the message "Love peace and joy." Wow! What goes around come around. Amazing how how energy, thoughts, emotions and actions from work gets transferred to our kids. They can be reflections of our continuing sagas. A 3-year old Montessori said to me "Hokey pokey artichokey! You are what you eat. You are what you say!"

Thanks Vanessa and thanks science. Hmm, I think the negative trait transference is about not wanting to associate with negative people. If someone is the type to always talk down other people, I don't really want to be around them. It's conscious.

In regards to speaking ill of a competitor, the only time I found it off-putting as a customer was when the ill comment instantly came off as an unwarranted dig. When it was given as an accurate comment, then it was not off-putting at all. Have they done follow-up studies taking this into account?
