Hi Gavin , some great results there with the Dasher , you’ve done a great job with the rifle build looking forward to more , I also wanted to say and with the upmost respect with the chronoGraph reading time at 21.28min I don’t know if you realised the FPS showed a difference of 22fps and the Standard deviation was 8.1 you can change that setting in the magneto menu to read in FPS or SD , sorry just wanted to point that out but still great results none the less 👍👍

Don't expect to get 'all of your reloading gear' all at once...you accumulate it over time...I bought an RCBS Rockchucker press in 72 from the post Rod & Gun Club in Germany...I started teloading when I got home in"74...took me the next 40 years to accumulate all my 'dtuff'...dies, presses, etc...this hobby is time consuming..you simply have to Love fiddling around with case prep, load development etc...try to find used equipment...most of the stuff is hardly used...guys buy stuff nut lose interest and wives tell them to sell it...get a bunch of reloading manuals and a good balance beam scale...I still have the one I bought in '02...the gold standard...

Hey Gavin, try shooting without using your glasses. I have seen them change the zero on the scope a bit. It is another optic in the path. It won't change it much, but it will make a tight group into a medium group.
@archer3181
@archer3181 Жыл бұрын
I used to shoot 32.5 grains of Varget with 105 Berger vld-target bullets out of my dasher. I shot a few 5 shot groups in the zeros with it and hardly ever seen a group over .2 unless I messed up. That rifle was a tack driver.
@MScholtz

Actions speak loud and clear. You painted a great picture of all the single stage presses you have but the table fixture on that forster is growing roots on your bench. So the best one to start with for reloading towards ELR. Because damn that's a tight group.

I'm glad you tried that node after all. I'm wondering about the unexplored node with the 109 grain bullets. I know you're looking more for a "flat spot," but I'm reminded of something I learned in an applied math class about stability of a dynamic system and that looks like a good spot. (Im not an experienced reloader so there's probably lots you know that I don't. But still, im curious!)

Gavin great video. I've been shooting Dasher at Ridgway Rifle Club matches for a couple years now and it’s a great round. You may want to try CCI 450 primers. We run 32.8g of Varget and 450's hold up better with the higher load no flattening or piercing. BR-4 would give us a larger ES. I don't know that much about PRS if you reuse your brass. But in Benchrest our brass is very precious to us. If you can keep your brass try leaving the carbon in the neck. It acts as a lube and make for a more consistent bullet release. ie. lower ES. Can't wait to see what kind of groups you get at long range. We only shoot silhouettes so I've never put mine on paper at range.

Great Series on 6mm D, the results are fantastic. Maybe the manufacturers take notice and produce a budget rifle on this cartridge (Savage, Ruger, etc.). Looking forward to the next installment. One last thing, get a Labradar, although the numbers (fps) are the same as the MS(I tested), not having any interference with the barrel or adjusting after a shot makes it worth every penny. IMHO.

Gavin, excellent video, and excellent results. I have a new dasher myself, really enjoying it. You have found the same nodes I have with the same bullets. I have found the choice between the 105's and 109's to be a difficult one. I shoot F-class Mid-range (600 yards). Extensive testing has shown the 105's are slightly better in ES and SD BUT,,, the 109's have a much better water line at 600 yards, (20 shot groups) I shoot on a private range with a Shot Marker for practice. The scoring is about equal between the two bullets, depending on how I am shooting, either can score better on a given day. I will probably settle on the 109's due to the water line aspect as well as ballistics advantage at 600 yards. Now for the criticism, You seem to want to be all things reloading to all people, I can understand that. BUT, that negates follow-up on projects already released. This video was released over 4 months ago, you have released nearly 40 video's since then, none of which were the promised follow up on the dasher long range testing. This seems to negate your stated enthusiasm of the dasher build, and has a negative affect on followers who look forward to completion of your projects. I can definitely wait on evaluation of dies and case prep tools and rangefinders to see your final results on the dasher, or are you now into the ARC? Just one mans opinion.
