My WalkingPad: bit.ly/3Lhl02Z
I have the WalkingPad C2 Mini Foldable Walking Treadmill. It's speed ranges from 0.5-3.5 mph and it weighs 55lbs. It's compact and easy to store when not in use.
** USE CODE StrawberryChic for $110 off your $400+ purchase at WalkingPad
Other WalkingPad options:
jogging option (goes up to 7.45mph) bit.ly/3MvyBDj
standing desk bit.ly/40FkjWy
lightest option (48.5 lbs) bit.ly/3oqmAXN
Find a workout routine you enjoy:
I've been loving Pure Barre and Pilates with occasional strength classes in the Peleton App. I want to try other strengthening routines so let me know if you have one you enjoy! I prefer lower-impact strengthening workouts to help with my stress and energy levels.
Exercise Recommendation:
30 minutes of moderate exercise 5x/week or 20 minutes of high intensity workouts 3x/week for heart health
2-3 strengthening workouts per week
Keep Track of your Diet
I use the My Fitness Pal app and it guides you based on your personal goals! You can adjust it depending on how quickly you want to reach your goals.
Eat Quality Foods and Focus on Protein
After tracking my meals, I quickly realized how little protein I was eating. This is the number one thing I focus on with my diet to help me stay full longer and to help build more muscle definition.
Intermittent Fasting:
2 weeks before my trip I started fasting for 15 hours (typically from 6-11 or 7-12). I noticed very quick results and less bloating. Some tips to help you when starting:
- Stay busy in the morning when fasting to keep your mind off it
- drink tea or water to stay hydrated while fasting
Outfit I'm wearing in video:
sweatshirt (s) bit.ly/3YYWEil
skirt (m) bit.ly/3ElbNmv

I’ve been tracking macros and calories since April 2021 and I lost 15 pounds slow and steady. It does work. It’s completely eye-opening. Now I just have to maintain. Which is totally an accomplishment in itself!

Love this video! I’m thinking of purchasing a walking Pad. I’m in the beginning stages of research and reviews. Your voice is calming as well might I add…Much needed. Appreciate the tips and I’m glad to say I’ve been following most them and have gotten results. Especially the intermittent fasting. I’ve been doing that for a year now, so to hear you confirm this is Great 👍🏽

Love all these tips! Your recommendations are very similar to the digital fitness and nutrition program I coach for. We use intermittent fasting, whole food nutrition, macro tracking, carb cycling and get provided with 30 minute workouts (2 HIIT, 3 strength training, and 2 active recovery). It is the best!!

Re low impact strengthening routine. I used to be a gym rat and my weight lifting routine was based on Joe Weider’s pyramid sets… yeah, you don’t need all that and yes, I’m really dating myself. So fast forward, I’m 70 and over the years (decades) I learned that a moderation is best. I recommend 2 or 3 pound dumbbells. 5 pound tops. Just do 20 reps of a low weight of bicep curls, tricep kickback, shoulder raises and side raises. Slowly. Breathe. Exhale at the exertion point (protect your pelvic floor). Done. Everyday if you’d like. Amanda, you’ve got this❤

I'm a 55, almost 56 year old intermittent faster. The book Fast Feast Repeat by Gin Stephens is a life changing book. I lost almost 30 lbs and am approaching my 2 year anniversary with no problem maintaining my weight loss. I came to intermittent fasting for weight loss but have stuck around for the health benefits. I don't track calories and when I eat, it is what I want to eat(which has changed over time). Give it a try... esp if you are post menopausal.

For strength training I totally recommend lifting weights!! It is so important to not just do a ton of cardio workouts but to always always include strengthen training!! It's so good for your joints your bones and keeps the dreaded osteoporosis at bay too!! Plus muscle burns more calories than fat so you end up upping your metabolism too!! As for plan I totally recommend Caroline Girvan!! She's at fitness trainer that started an online KZfaq channel at the beginning of the pandemic for her clients but she went viral!!! She's amazing!!! Start with iron it's slow but very very effective!! And it doesn't completely drain you but gives you a good workout and you definitely get results!!!

I just ordered the walking pad! Thanks for the discount code Amanda! This will be great for me and my retired mom who lives with me. I also have a baby the same age as Josie, so this will really help me fit in some walking when she’s napping. I’ve been losing weight with the Dukan diet, my endocrinologist recommended it to me after my thyroid removal and I’m having great success! Down 18 pounds! I’m also intermittent fasting a few times a week. Keep up the good work!!!

@@piinkdollable I really like it! It can go faster than I expected since it’s only really intended for walking, some of the higher settings are more like jogging or running for me. My only caution is if you don’t have good balance it’s not going to work for you. My 70 year old mom could no use it even on the slowest setting because she needs something to hold on to. It’s fine for me, but she was hoping to use it too, so that was a little disappointing.

I lost 40 lbs. by walking an hour a day. I do like going up steep hills, though, after my initial poor fitness level improved, I needed them to get a good workout. I long ago banned any form of sugar from my diet. This includes processed foods, which are full of sugars with sneaky names. Evaporated cane syrup, come on! This is exactly what table sugar is, evaporated cane or beet syrup.

When you talked about dropping a meal to meet your calorie restriction for your vacation, it made me so sad. I grew up in a household with a lot of calorie restrictions and have had to unlearn a lot of unhealthy eating views bc of it.
@thoughtfulpro371
@thoughtfulpro371 11 ай бұрын
What? Be sad now, or sad later. Pick your sad. I’d rather skip an extra meal I’m barely hungry for and enjoy feeling light and comfortable walking in shorts on vacation. Only Americans assign such a “sad” meaning to maintaining reasonable food quantities. Overeating can lead to obesity and shortening of life!

Also depends on age. As one enters their 40s, it starts to become clear that reducing food intake is the only way to keep up. Was surprised to gain a few pounds eating as I always have, but entering middle age is kind of shocking like that.

Don’t put your trauma with food onto her. The human body doesn’t have an internal meal-counter. It only knows energy in vs. energy out. During intermittent fasting, it can be difficult to fit 3 meals into the schedule. You typically try to fit all of your calories into the feeding window either through two satiating meals or by grazing throughout the eating window. Alternatively, she may be reducing her calorie intake by one meal because her energy needs are lower. The “3 meals per day” standard was built by society when people were far more active in their daily work. If you do labor-intensive work in the trades, at a factory, on a farm, moms chasing their children around the house, or nurses on their feet all day… you probably need three meals to meet your caloric needs. But nowadays, many of us work desk jobs and only get up to use the bathroom or eat lunch. Humans were not made to be sedentary, and yet most of us are. If you’re not moving much during the day, your body does not need as much food energy. This is also age-dependent. Young people with faster metabolisms typically have higher energy needs. You can eat 2 meals per day and still have a healthy relationship with food.
@EBB505
@EBB505 3 ай бұрын
Remember this relative to everyone. Some people may eat a lot at each meal and cutting that meal might be what leads to the weight loss. However it's not the only way, you could half the portion and keep the meal. Just remember that people do what works for them on their weight loss journey
