Awesome video Dean, full of great tips like the channel always provides. Thanks for sharing. The hair tips and the last tip on mood boards, sketching aspects from other artists (not stealing :) ) really helped out. BTW great new video setup... hopefully 79.1K sign in the background ticks over to 100K quickly :)

These were great tips! I mostly do retouch, and a little bit of collage. Generally making the Designer's work at my agency look realistic. I've been using Photoshop since 1.0, when there were no Undos or layers. Cut my technique teeth with Kai Krause's tips. What a long, strange trip this app has been. I can't believe I only started using Blend If a couple years ago. Your chain is amazing! It looks like it might be made from pull-tabs?

Hi Dean thx for the tips. I know the desktop publishing (Quark + Illustrator) since 1992 on a MAC IICi. Saw Photoshop later on, but started when I had my first business MAC Quadra 800. Good enough for Photoshop... Later on only used for retouching colours and making free objects from background. Of course skills were raising. In the early 2000's I was joking my mates with Photoshopped pics... Then I stopped till I discovered last year the art world.... You have a big chain around your neck, but I try to unchain myself. Lack of Ideas!

Great tips, but I don’t quite understand the stealing shadows hack. This doesn’t show how you take the shadow from a stock image and apply it it one of your own. It just simply demonstrates how to manipulate the shadow in an existing image.

It would pretty much be the same process. You'd just line up the new shadow under the old image and then process the new shadow like you see in the video. Hopefully, that makes sense!

@@PhotoManipulation it does, but it would have been good to see it being demonstrated, as it can take substantial work finding a opponent image with a suitable shadow and manipulating it to make it fit. If you’re going to demonstrate a tip called “stealing shadows” it would be really beneficial to see you actually stealing the shadow from a different image.
