This video is super special to me, and I hope you enjoy watching it. A lot of effort and help went into this one. We shot this at Yosemite National Park and Muir Woods National Monument in under 2 days, however, edited for almost 2 weeks straight.
I'd really love to thank the National Parks Service for all their help, and for sending park ranger Ashley to help us find some of the beautiful shots you see of Yosemite National Park in the video.
This was really my first big step in producing and really doing a complete, lengthly project on my own. I can't thank you all enough for your support and helping me get to this point.
Please, go check out my cousins amazing song "Farewell" from his album Breathe Again that's featured at the end of my video (the link is below).

Narration was done by my good and tremendously talented friend Jake Foushee Links to his stuff below:

I loved this video, not only because it was something new for you, but because of the message. I can't give a full critique but I loved the comparison between getting lost in the jungle and dealing with the death of a loved one. Especially (for me) having a Christian faith. Marcus, your work is amazing and it shouldn't go unrecognized. Go after your calling Marcus! Love you bro, can't wait to see more.

Stunning job! It's crazy how the title has almost a deeper biblical meaning than what it is actually, while beautifully capturing God's creation and almost taking us along the path of our walks when we follow Jesus, sorrow and suffering being so near constantly. I love the concept, don't know if that was it but it definitely was awesome to kind of see an interpretation of it! You're a funny favorite viner of mine but even more talented artist. Keep on!

This video is just amazing because it shows perfectly how good of a person Marcus really is, and although I don't know him personally, I can tell just by looking at this that he is way more than the guy in front of a camera, he is just a normal guy who tries to steal a smile out of his fans, he is just a guy who tries to be friendly and caring, and I like him for that. I hope that he keeps being that awesome and never changes.

I'm over the moon that this was rendered in the best quality and uploaded in 4K HD too! Ryan John's 'Be Alright' is mesmerising too, GREAT song choice! Absolutely love this video, we need more! Absolutely stunning. The scenery is beyond gorgeous, and I only dream of visiting places like that at some point in my life. What I love most about 5 STAGES OF GRIEF is how it puts such a perfect visual on what it is actually like, dealing with grief. Even if you don't get lost in the woods, you get lost inside your own head because the grief is blocking out any sense of direction. This video portrays that in a stunning way. Thank you for sharing this.

Absoloutely stunning and beautiful landscapes, professional camera work and brilliant experimentation with perception of man amongst nature. The voiceover was a great tool in moving the plot along, I'm guessing you wrote it yourself? The ending music really left the viewer with satisfaction. Maybe next time you could expand on your acting a bit more? I felt like some of the scenes were underdeveloped, like the depression scene. At some parts also your comical acting style almost disrupted the formal tone of the film, but thats something you can work on if you're more serious about this kind of thing. A really impressive and surprisingly thought provoking film for a 6 second viner. Well done Marcus. :)

There are no words for how amazing this was. I have been watching you since your 20th vine or something and to see you come this far is insane. The thing that I am utterly proud about is how after Vine got very crowded with people who have no sort morals and everything, all the jokes are about sex or money and their is no sincerity you stayed the same. There might be popularity in all this stuff but what you do is purely worthy of respect because it isn't stained with insincerity. I really have come to respect you as an individual. I am trying really hard to make KZfaq work for me and if it does I plan on communicating with you somehow. You and Markiplier are the only people to me that are famous and not egoistic and insincere about it and because of that I am filled with utter respect for you guys! Stay the same Marcus. I wonder if you know Markiplier. If you don't he is another major youtuber and truly an amazing person apart from his comedy. Someone who inspires his viewers to the right thing. I like your Linklater style. By that, I mean this: I was unable to decide if this was funny or not, or if you even meant for it to be funny. That lack of obvious genre made me enjoy this. By the way, whoever directed this is absolutely superb. You have the potential to be more than a comedic actor.

Great Job! This can be a big step to being a famous director/actor. Instead of just a six second star. Also why were the trees on fire?

This was an amazing video, the scenery was breath taking and even though you barely used any words, you still were able to portray how you were feeling so clearly. Beautiful.

Criticism: -The Acting was very forced in the Anger part. -The Music was not very fitting in the begginning and I think it could have reflected his emotions a lot better (exept for Bargain and onwards, there the music was pretty decently picked) -I think that you could have maybe made his clothes dirty or rugged out in the later scenes, to really depict how long he was in the forest. Aside from that, the Editing and cinematoraphy were very good and the concept was pretty decent at explaing this topic.

As I watched this video I realized how much work you put into these kind of things for us. This is a stunning work of art because of all the scenery and talent. I love how you can show Gods creation of a beautiful world in one video. You are my idol and thanks for showing me I can be who I am. Thank you so much Marcus!!

I love this different side of you. I've been watching your vines for a while and I can always count on you to make me laugh, but I also love how you made me think with this video. The acting was beautiful, and the scenery was beautifully captured. God has big plans for you.
