I hope you guys had a nice trip. I love the Ritz-Carlton! It is my favorite hotel to stay at. Their service is amazing!

I'm going to be staying at Ritz Carlton Cancun for a week in August, King size bed with ocean view all paid for with points. I used a combination of my SPG AMEX points and AMEX MR points that I transferred to Marriott. Since I just got the AMEX platinum last week, thanks to you, I also have Gold status and should be expecting a free upgrade. The value of the room I booked for the entire week is over $3k. I'll do my research on possible room upgrades before I check in. Thanks Sebby!

My main concern with Hawaii was cost of food. Everything nearby seemed super expensive. Otherwise, I think the view and experience of Hawaii should be better.

sebby I have an idea for a video. could you talk about the visa signature card perks I recently used the luxury hotel collection to book a resort through visa in Tahoe and was surprised I got a free room upgrade, a few free drinks at the hotel bar, early check in late check-out, and VIP status which I'm unsure what that really gets you lol. if there's one person that can explain these perks even though they are much less valuable I think it would make a good video specially because it was free with a no annual fee card.

Ditto on this request. I struggle making sense of all of Visa's variations (signature vs platinum vs infinite, etc.). do they actually matter?

is your gold status lifetime or does it go away if you cancel the card?

Goes away if you cancel. It actually goes away after the first year unless you hit some spending minimums too.

Just build a quick Excel model (should take you 1 to 5 minutes). It doesn't warrant it's own video because there's zero complexity - it's super straightforward.
