so far, i haven't really needed a power bank since i'm playing older games on the deck right now, so i'm getting above 4-6 hours. however, i have a jump starter that i will use once i start getting into more demanding games. on top of that, i also have a smaller one that can do up to 18watts which will do fine for a quick top off.

How long does the Anker take to charge the SD? Have you tried that one on the plane to charge while the unit (SD) is on? Thanks for the cool reviews.

Great video but there is a reason for the 26800mah it's the maximum size you can carry on a plane, you should put a disclaimer for the crave battery because the TSA will confiscate it and then your out $250.

One thing to note on the power crave 2 is that it wouldn't be recommended if you plan to travel by plane since it's battery capacity is higher than what airlines allow.

I got an anker Astro 2nd gen e7 26800 mA, testing a full charge on a 30 % Nintendo switch, seeing if it can change it, after 30 minutes, switch battery is at 50. Anker battery still at full levels. Next is to see if I can charge a legion go. Ps not using the switch for downloading or playing while charging. Any tips I don’t know what wattage the bank has?

Just pick up the crave powerbank thanks for letting us know about this little big beast of a battery, it's definitely expensive but worth it with a USB c cable over 6ft long. Great video

I bought the Baseus 30kmAh 65 watt. It's got plenty of overhead to run my deck and charge other things at the same time.

You may run into an issue bringing that on to airlines, limit for many is 25k

Hi! Loved your video and I am getting my Steam Deck next week so this was very informative. There is something I want to ask you about. The prices differ greatly in the links you provided compared to your video. For example, the link to Imuto on Amazon shows that it is originally 130 USD and on sale at the moment for 100 USD. Techsmarter shows 60 USD in the link. However in your video it shows 80 USD for Imuto and 90 USD for Techsmarter. May I ask where the discrepancy in your numbers came from? At the moment I am leaning towards Techsmarter just for the price, but the lower price is worrying me a little.

They change the prices a lot for these things on Amazon. Those were the prices when I made this video. I'm currently using the techsmarter and it works great so I'm sure you'll be fine with that especially if you're getting it for 60 USD. I paid more it lol.

@@midasgamespace I just realized the link you put in the description for Techsmarter is actually goes to the 20,000 mah and 18w powerbank. I found the one with 30,000 mah and 45w and that one is 90 USD like you put in the video.

How can you charge the Deck only 4 times if the Crave is 50k mAh and the Deck is 5200 mAh? That would be like 9,5 times you can charge it

I think the limit for batteries on flights is around 25, 000 mah, so some of those banks are better for travel than others. I bought a 65w PD bank from amazon, and it does charge the deck, but slowly, so it is clearly not actually delivering 65w.

@@midasgamespace The airlines measure it in kilowatt hours, which you then have to convert to miliamps, and it may vary by country or airline. It is quite complicated, but I think. anything around 20,000mah is normally OK, and anything over 25,000 or more is not. My largest bank is 23800, and I think it will probably just get under the limit.

I have just checked, and my 23800mah battery is 88.06wh according to the back, and the limit is 100wh for a single battery, though you can get special permission from the airline for a larger one, which sounds like a pain in the ass to get. So if the 26800mah Anker has a limit of under 100wh it is plane ready, though it will probably be very close. The largest battery pack in this video is definitely going to get confiscated.

@@chrisb9345 thanks for sharing this. I just looked up the specifications for the Anker Powercore+ and found the value of 97.28Wh. With the 100Wh rule this appears to be a good choice for flying 👍

Your testing methodology is wrong the deck charges only at 15-17w when idle so any charger which can do up to 20w will charge it in approximately 2 hours 10 Mins or so. The deck takes 40W while on high load like playing something like god of war .. i got the imuto 30000mAh 110WH (TSA allows 100WH if you are worried you can take a bigger one if you get permission from the airlines source TSA gov website ) tbh TSA would never check the power bank unless it way too big i just took that imuto one a flight and got it through no problems.. My issue with the imuto one was that it charges at 40w for a couple of seconds or a few mins at best then drops to 7W .. Could try charging while gaming and test all the power banks using a usb c tester?

Yea it's because they deliver USB-C PD. I was to power banks costing 30-60 until I needed a higher power supply for the deck.

I went with the Ravpower 90W/30000mAh power bank. It charges my Steam Deck faster than when it's plugged into the wall! Edit: The Steam Deck can accept up to 60W - Not 45W

check best buy, they are always doing closeout sales on insignia their store brand. I got 80w 27,000 mah for $27 delivered, i got a rexing 78w car charger for $20. both work great.
