This was an AMAZING episode! The fact that there is a CYCLE to motherhood 🤯, I’ve been to that “thriving” place in life, oh the guilt I’ve felt when life shifts and I’m in “survival mode” again! Thank you both so much for sharing! 💕 Looking forward to getting to know Jessica more!

Love. Love. Love. This episode! I’m 56, homeschooling our youngest. My parents have dementia (very advanced) my dad died October 19th. I’ve literally been in survival mode (mostly) since 2018. (It’s seems like one crisis after another since then.) Two days ago, I thought, “okay, I need to do some surface decluttering so I can feel “caught up” for Christmas.” Oh my goodness. It’s 48 hours later and I’m still surface Decluttering! How did this happen? 😂 I do feel like I’m in “re-entry mode.” I have a crisis on pause with my mom right now. She needs to go into “memory care.” But like the guest. I need to learn how to navigate these crises better. For today, “what that looks like” is to give myself permission to take care of “us.” Even if it means that my mom gets neglected for a day or too. (Which she’s really not being neglected, I’m just not “helicoptering” over her.

This was amazing you two! I’m currently in “re-entry” (thank you for the name!) and feeling so encourage by what you shared! My big wins this morning were spending time with Jesus in bible study & exercising. This podcast made walking on the treadmill 1000x more enjoyable and on top of it, gave me the hope I needed to hear ❤️

Before the interview was finished I already forwarded it on to my family! I know this was intended for motherhood, but I think it's valuable information that ANYONE can use in ANY phase of life! Well done, ladies! And thank you for sharing your faith. My heart and mind was already thinking how the Lord could help with each step, and before you finished explaining, you jumped right it with how the Lord designed us and can help us thrive. THANK YOU! ~Wendy

I think it’s so like humble Dawn not to even mention her own weekly study program, despite a perfectly natural set-up. Ha! Glad Jessica brought it up. Dawn’s decluttering by faith workbook is awesome and it sounds like there is really so much wisdom in Jessica’s approach to motherhood as well. It helps to name the phases and recognize patterns! Wish I’d had this when my kids were littles!

Thank you so much for the reminder, that probably most of us are feeling lonely and it’s not just me. Also so valuable to hear, that it took three people to organise the get together. It’s not just me having to tackle it all. When we allow ourselves to open up, we surely will encounter people who are in the same boat!

Although I appreciate the advice in this video, I am just advocating for us autism, mamas, or mamas with children with extreme needs. This season of life will not pass quickly. We will always have this path to take. I am recognizing that our journey is hard and it should not be brushed aside.

What if you have no idea what things are supposed to look like. I worked from the age of 20 to 37 on 3rd shift. I never figured out what was supposed to be done in adult life like cleaning and decluttering. I always felt like I was in survival mode. It's been getting better. Thank God! 3 years later.
