trick is, LEVEL! if youve never made Techno ...maybe you havnt lived it??? im assuming. So my suggestion to 'understand' would be to approach it like a techno/house producer. Start with your KICK library....preview til one 'Feels' right...4/4 Pattern....Monitor at a decent level so you can Feel it (at least in the beginning. No rules , Play , build build build, play (delay/verb etc), build , play, rinse repeat. ....a big step is to step away, forget what you made (20min or so) then come back with a pad of paper / critical listen / refine .....house and techno is a feeling more so than many others. Ride it

I wanna add another tip to this as I naturally do a lot of this already having not seen this video before. 1, in each of your respective bandwidths channels, use different delay times. 2, automate the %of offset on either or both sides delay times to create basically more bricks in the wall of sound. Also it helps your tracks feel like they're going somewhere. 3, I've found a plug-in called washed out under performance and dj effects. It's great and you should use it on a send track that all your bandwidths should be sent to other than the lows. Then automate the effect amount around the kick and its very smeared.
@BaddBadger Жыл бұрын
Nice addition to the topic there. All i've used that Washed Out effect for until now is creating an ambient fade out when editing my live jams. Your suggestion sounds like a far better use for it. Cheers.

@OscarUnderdog3 жыл бұрын
Great intuition! I recall seeing a Paula Temple masterclass at a conference a long time ago, and her Ableton template did have a huge number of return channels with creative reverb routings all over. I didn't fully understand it at the time, but I think that might match what you're thinking!
@shalloweffectfeld99283 жыл бұрын
@@OscarUnderdog I like to make this broken beat Techno and like to add some reverb in the too to give it that weight a bit of sub from operator too to give it some sub frequency weight in between the delays or infill kicks. Not to say thats the right way to do things if there is a right way to do things in techno. Some really nice tips on spiting the frequencys to fill up the sound in your tutorial.
