A more sinister interpretation could be the two other friends killed Eric for some reason and made the rest up? That would be horrifying to climb with your friends and they just cut you off. They would have needed to hide the body then however. Strange.

For those who are just consuming Missing 411 through Mr. Ballen, here's David Paulides advice on how to prevent becoming the subject of a bizarre disappearance like this: 1. If you're going to go into the wilderness, make sure that people know where you're going to be, and when you'll be back. Make sure theyre ready to call in authorities if you aren't back by the specified time. 2. Carry an emergency satelite phone. It's a kind of device that you can take anywhere and at the press of a button, it can send an alert to local authorities that you need help, as well as exactly where you are. 3. Be armed. The number of people who have disappeared mysteriously while following these steps is in the single digits. Not completely foolproof, but nothing really is.

Wait really? Huh...strange, but there's still a big question, if this was really a bear, assuming it was a Grizzly Bear, was this bear used to humans or something like that, cause if this was a wild, normal Grizzly, why was the bear being friendly? I know that animals aren't good or bad, they're just animals, but still, it's a natural predator, and predator instincts would say that the child was prey, I know that sounds horrible, but it's technically true you know?

That's what I'm saying. A lot of these cases happen in rugged wilderness and I'm guessing there could be unexplored caves that are pretty well hidden. Eerily, a lot of these people go missing right before huge storms for some reason. It's easy for them to stumble into some random, obscure cave.

I've always been afraid to venture far into the woods. Here in Brazil the vast majority of our forests are too dense and don't allow you to go very far without getting stuck in some kind of vine or bushes full of thorns. But if you manage to overcome these natural barriers, the risks of you coming across some danger are real. Wild predators, poisonous animals and insects, even narco traffickers and bad people in general. A while ago the army discovered in a forest a clandestine cemetery where drug traffickers use it to kill and burie their victims, several and several bodies were dug up.

My Aunt’s friend had a weird experience while hiking Mt Shasta, but a positive one. Her and a friend got lost in the snow, not sure if they just got turned a round or it had started snowing, I can’t remember. They were starting to get worried since it was starting to get dark when two or three really pale men with really blue eyes found them. They were wearing light clothing, not something you would usually wear in the cold/snow. Well they didn’t talk much but led them out towards the town they were staying at and then they were gone. When they were telling someone who lives there, they had said something like “oh yea, that’s the blue people”. They kept to them selves and lived up the mountain and some people believe they are extra terrestrials who got stuck there. They don’t go into town but will help people who are lost from time to time. My aunt told me years ago so I might be wrong about some things, sadly she passed away in 2019 so I can’t ask her. Just thought it was a fun story 😊.

These are inner earth people, not extra terrestrial. There are countless whistleblowers that had experiencies with civilizations that exist inside the earth, through cave systems. Many abductees from UFOs tell that the ship went inside the earth through caves, or when they asked the "ETs" where they lived, they pointed to mounts and caves. Even military had footage of UFOs coming in and out of caves and even the sea. There are these areas in parks that are forbidden to the public and the government knows that they have entrances to underground bases and cities. Phil Schineider had a story about how his group found one of these cities with grey type people while digging the earth, he was assassinated when he was about to leak the entrance of these cities. The world is a stage, reality is a lot more strange than everyone is taught to believe.

That story may be a bit of a key to the entire "missing 411" record. What if the things taking people are not allowed to take a child who's too young to understand or know certain things? This might explain why the thing the child thought was his grandma would be getting frustrated when he didn't know the answers to questions. It's just a thought.

I appreciate this. I cant stand when people rule young children off. We could probably learn more from them if we all actively tried. I remember when my nieces were first born, they had a couple experiences with something our eyes couldn't see but theirs could. (animals do it too.) I always loved being around babies and kids. My favorite age is 2-3. I often would think to myself, "it's because they barely left God and i can still feel it." but whatever that thing was on that mountain sounds like it has the ability to shape shift. ...which is creepy.. but it more pisses me off that it interacted with a child. 😠 and i wonder what it was asking anyway...

@@matthewmosier8439 I see your point. From what I've read most of the adults who are "taken" are never found or if so are found deceased. Some may have simply gotten lost on their own, not taken. Also it appears most of the adults "taken" are confused and can't remember what happened to them during the time they were missing or how they came to be "lost." Its' too bad they can't explain if they had contact with a"being" or "entities." I use the word taken because my belief is they were unaware they were being led away. Disturbing cases.

I've heard of weird things happening at Mt Shasta for at least 40 years. My first room mate in the Air Force, back in fall of 81, was from Redding California. He told me there was always something weird going on there, strange lights in the sky, bigfoot sightings etc.

Here’s some general advice for anyone that considers going hiking: 1. Make sure that *multiple* people know where you’re going, what you’re going to be doing and for how long you plan to be gone for. 2. Tell them what you’re going to be wearing. 3. Tell them your plan in case you get lost. Unless you’re extremely experienced and know *exactly* what you’re doing your best plan is to just stay out and wait for rescue. 4. Make sure you have more supplies with you than you think you’ll actually need (I usually try to have at least two extra days worth of food and water with me, just in case). 5. Invest in a LifeStraw, they don’t take up much space, they weigh very little and they can end up saving your life! 6. Buy a power bank that can be charged using solar panels and bring it with you. The reception out in the forest is usually pretty spotty but in case things go wrong you do *not* suddenly realise that “Oh shit my phone’s dead”. Make sure to wrap both the powerbank and your phone in plastic bags. 7. Finally, write down where you’re going, what you’re going to be doing and for how long you plan to be gone (along with all the supplies, clothes and equipment you are going to take with you along with your phone number) on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope and clearly mark it with something along the lines of “If I go missing, give this to the police!” and give it to a loved one you know and trust. Your loved ones may be hysterical and unable to think straight if you go missing so this will help the authorities immensely. This may seem extremely excessive, but consider this: In the United States alone more than 600,000 people go missing *each year*. Most are eventually found (alive or otherwise..) but some do end up just disappearing without a trace. So ask yourself this: “Do I *really* want to chance it or should I prepare ‘just in case’ and laugh about it later?”

A lot of people tend to overlook things when it comes to going out in the nature alone... Especially if said people are already experienced or are from a tougher line of work and have seen shit. For example, my cousin finished military academy, was tank platoon commander and had a lot of outdoor experience. Him and his younger brother wanted to go for this 100km long hike through the woods (no trails) straight through the woods and climb a mountain peak. I told them (keep in mind that I'm not experienced hiker nor camper (like to camp but close to civilization)) they need to inform mountain rangers, need to give them exact route they are planning to take, have guns with them just in case, have deep boots for snakes, watch out for cuts, need to have medication, be careful about bears and wolves etc. He laughed it off and said it's only a 100km hike, few days only and said bears are not that big of an issue. Well, when he called rangers, they asked for their route, give them specific checkpoints with estimated time to arrive, told them to get a sat phone and check in on every checkpoint with them within 1-2 hours, have food stashed away from camp site etc etc. They didn't wanna buy a sat phone just for this one hike, so they rescheduled their trip for this year, are planning to go without informing rangers. And that's how people get lost. Arrogance.

I’ve got my own Mt Shasta story. It’s actually my parents story, but I’ll tell it. They were living near Mt Shasta Town, a little ways up the mountain from where the city center was. Their house was surrounded by woods, and they had a neighbor a few hundred yards through one of the thickets of trees. Well, my parents trained dogs, and had kennels next to the house. They would take their dogs up the mountain hiking and training at the same time. One of their occasions on the mountain they had a German Shepard with them. And they had stayed out longer than expected and were descending the mountain trail in the dark heading home. Their dog all of a sudden stopped in front of them, lowered its head and starred off the trail into the fast falling darkness and forest. After a few seconds a huge deer came running past them but the dog barely gave the deer a second glance and continued to stare in the direction it had run from. My dad grabbed his collar and tried soothing him, enough to get back on the move. They made it home that night without incident. But they were on alert due to the dogs actions, and when they got back the two other dogs were also acting strange. They cooked dinner and sat down in their living room, to settle down for the night. A few hours later they heard this blood curdling scream coming from outside their house, to the side of the driveway away from the nearest house. My dad ran out to see what was going on, and he found a woman, half crouched, half falling back against the base of the nearby tree. Her face was ripped open, and she was screaming. The woman it would turn out, was an addict on a trip of some kind, and She had been running around the woods for a few days out of her mind. She had decided to sneak up to my parents house, for whatever reason she had. As she had hidden herself in the nearby trees when my parents came home. Their dog that they had been training that day. Escaped his kennel with a 6 foot tall chain length fence, ran across the yard, intercepted her path stealthily and was laying under the picnic table when this woman, who was army crawling across the yard, crawled under the picnic table, which was located on the side of the house near the porch and side door. She came face to face with an angry German Shepherd protecting his owners. The dog ripped her face open, and her lips off. They had an ambulance come out for her and they had to go out and find her.... “parts”, for the ambulance to take to the hospital with her. I know it’s not paranormal, but it’s not always the boogeyman running around with nefarious intentions. Had the dog not done his duty, there’s no telling what that woman could of done to my parents. This world is full of crazy people, and no doubt that’s not all. Keep your head on a swivel and trust your instincts. Oh, and dogs are man’s best friends for many reasons. 😉😉

Psssshhh, food is my dog's best friend. You could murder everyone in our house if you came in with a pack of bologna lol. Personally, I think he's broke. The area around our house is notoriously haunted and he has no reaction at all to "weird" events. Now Zoey, god rest her soul, that dog would let you know if something was "off". I remember one time I was outside close to the tree line a few feet away from the tree we tie her too when she needs to go out. I was pacing around and I just started to feel like I was being watched. The feeling was really strong and my eyes kept being drawn to a specific area under a shelter on the side of an old dilapidated barn my grandfather built years ago. It was VERY dark but not so dark that you wouldn't have been able to see something standing there so I kept shrugging it off because there was nothing there. So a minute or two go by and the feeling is starting to make me want to go inside. all of a sudden Zoey turns her head to look over her shoulder and immediately leans up like she sees something. She slowly raises up to her feet and starts a really low, deep growl that turns into like a half bark. There is just enough light to see every hair on her spine is standing straight up. at this point I realize that I am not crazy. There IS something there. It's just not physically visible. So long story short, I demanded it to show itself. It did not but instead attacked me. This "pressure" came up on me real quick. A wave of something akin to static electricity ran over me and it felt like something simultaneously set my lungs on fire and dug around in my chest cavity with fingers made of forks. At some point I blacked out and when I came too I was just standing there staring into the darkness. For how long, I have no idea. Zoey was still trying to snatch her head out of her collar and "IT" was still standing under the shelter watching me. I reached over, grabbed her collar, unhooked her, and walked with her back to the house with my head damn near twisted backwards to keep an eye on... uhhh... the thing I couldn't see lol. We got in the house I went straight to bed because I felt deathly tired and sick to my stomach. I slept for the better part of three days and I wasn't fully "right" again for nearly a week.

Methamphetamine (or similar), PCP, and alcohol. Those are the three that you need to be concerned about (and for meth, it's mostly due to sleep deprivation, not the drug itself). Barring those, it's very, _very_ uncommon for narcotics to make a nonviolent person violent. If someone breaks into your home/vehicle to steal for drug money, it's most often because they're terribly ill from not having opiates and just desperately want to not be sick anymore (at that stage, the euphoria mostly comes from recovering from feeling sick, not actually getting "high") - rarely are they prepared for a physical altercation and even if, they'd be very weak and easy to overtake.

I live in the middle of Allegheny National Forest in PA, and my husband and now 6yr old daughter found an entire pile of deer bones and the skull yards away while mushroom hunting and the way the bones laid looked like the way someone would lay rib or chicken wing bones as they eat. We live super close to Kinzua dam and there's multiple reports of an albino Bigfoot/white yeti looking thing in the forest around here. I've been inside and heard things that made my blood run cold. Side Note: MrBallen definitely does keep his word and respond to his messages. I found him last June after my aunt was murdered by my cousin, her grandson, and then 10 more deaths in my family right after,, and I thanked John for making stuff like this to help people who have severe anxiety and allow their thoughts to consume them and he did respond genuinely 🖤 definitely my favorite storyteller on a bad day.

I've only ever witnessed one concerning or weird thing. I grew up in Florida, there was one camping trip i went on with my family somewhere in Midland northern Florida, there was a nature trail out over a swamp, well most of it was boardwalk, and the only way out was how you get in, we had gone on it earlier that day and it was basically just a decent size loop over the swamp. I remember sitting and getting the campfire ready, a family of 3 (Mother, Father, and a child that looked about 6yrs old) went towards the entry to the trail which was only about maybe 100ft from our campsite, however.... It was about sunset, the trail maybe took about a half hour or so, i remember looking at my dad nervously and we discussed that it's getting late, and maybe we should tell them it's a bad idea to go out there at this time but didn't say anything as they were already gone in the few minutes we discussed it. Half-hour went by and nothing, then an hour later it was sunset and getting dark, we talked about going to look for them but didn't want to take the risk, hours kept passing, it was well past sunset and pitch black out. We watched many hours into the night, We didn't see anyone come back from the trail, we never saw the family return. I still wonder what happened to them, there's literally no other way to get off that trail other than the entrance Infront of our camp. We didn't hear any sound all night either, just nature.

Always pay strict attention to what a little child tells you when they're that young because they are very rarely going to lie to you they haven't yet learned how to be duplicitous. They often won't understand things they've seen and might tell them in a fantastical way but if you pay attention to what they say you usually can get the story people are way too quick to just dismiss what a small child says about things

@Unrestricted Gaming You can find a statics to prove anything. Many times companies or whoever is paying for the statics. They have been known to pressures the people involved to have them create a favorable result. For example, we all know how bad sugar and sugary drinks are bad for us. I have seen doctors scientist and nutritionist etc. Lie, and down play the bad health issues associated with a diet high in sugary food and drinks. These professions are usually employed or receiving money by a company that produces unhealtthy sugary junk food. Keep that in mind, even government funded research is bias. I am curious, do you have children? It seems like you do not, to me. Growing up, I did not lie, I had a cousin and an aunt who lied 24/7. I hated it when adults dismissed a child's fears or experiences, I still do. I am an honest parent that does not think my children are perfect or better than anyone else's children. I do know and can tell when they are scared, nervous or being dishonest etc. I still listen to them and validate their emotions. I find adults lie more than children and their behavior can be worse. These stories make me wonder if there are invisible ‘worm hole’-like tunnels in these areas that open and close randomly. And, if a person is in the wrong place at precisely the wrong moment when one opens up, they disappear into them. Maybe some tunnels are short and ‘open’ on the other end, which could explain why some people/children are found so far away. And then maybe there are other tunnels that are ‘closed’, as in, if a person inadvertently steps into the opening, they’re just gone forever. Maybe not dead, but in a another (parallel) dimension. Very science fictiony I know. But I believe this Earth has mysteries we don’t understand. Where are Mulder and Scully or the Fringe team when you need them? LOL🙂

In Perú we have a monster that lives in the jungle called the chullachaqui, it’s basically a creature that takes the form of a known one to lure you into the jungle and get you lost. Many people I have personally met have told me about encounters with the creature. You suddenly find your mom or girlfriend or a friend in the middle of a road or coming behind the trees, it’s usually an emergency and they insist that you follow them but something is off, people usually run when that happens. They say that the chullachaqui has a problem transforming its legs, you will notice one of his feet is a goats hoof or it’s backwards or maybe this person has 2 left or 2 right foot, if you doubt just look at its feet but don’t tell him you have noticed, just play dumb or run. Creepy shit.

I was born in Mt. Shasta. I've spent many years taking my own forays into the local nature spots and going off trail. I have seen some weird things and often tell weaker looking parties to avoid staying in certain places. One of the lesser stories I have was made stranger by the Cappy story. I was driving through some of the wider trails just to see how far a car could go. My brother was with me. At one point, we were on a part of the trail where the bush was really thick and formed a hedge to either side. A small opening my little car couldn't get through opened up on the left. I stop in place on the trail since there is no room to pull over and my brother and I look into a clearing that had no other entry point. Inside the clearing were two RV's that couldn't have gotten there placed in a loose V shape with an open tent making the bottom of the V. Sitting in the tent among a thousand trinkets an old woman said "Hey boys, you want some tea?" So I rolled up the window, put the car in drive and continued on my way. After staring ahead for a few minutes, my brother asks if we can leave so I drove over some shrubs to avoid going back the way we came.

I've always found the third story involving climber Eric Lewis highly strange, and just plain scary. He literally disappeared while being tied by rope to two other people, while on the side of the mountain. How in the hell is that possible without leaving any clues? I never knew about his backpack being found in an ice cave. That just kicks the strangeness up another level.

@@briannasterbakov6452 Well the other two climbers would be the main suspects. But since they left no evidence and no one saw them doing anything to their friend leads me to believe that they find it every bit as perplexing as the rest of us. What could pluck someone off the side of a mountain without leaving any footprints in the snow? A giant bird? A helicopter? It also had to do so without being noticed by anyone. I don't know if the answer is demons, but it certainly seems to be something beyond the scope of what we call normal.

The answers are in the missing 411 books there’s a lot more to that story than covered here. Like the fake grandma made him poop on a piece of paper like taking a dna sample or something. My theory is he was returned because they didn’t need him after all or something

I grew up in Mt Shasta during my high school years from freshman to my senior year. And needless to say there is a lot of mystery in that place there are true cults that live on the base of my Shasta and everyone who lives there knows about them and there are a lot of bear there but the bears mind there own business and keep from people for the most part but being out in the woods there anytime I was alone or away from people I would always feel like I was being watched almost like being stalked by a mountain lion you never see or hear them but you always get this feeling that something is there and that something is watching you I wish I knew what I do now from watch mr ballen I would have paid more attention when I was out in the woods there

So many of these stories with the kids make me wonder, it often seems alot of the kids are found alive a far distance away with no memory if the event. But alot of the adults are never found. Or found dead. Maybe whatever is causing it doesnt kill children.
