I like as well the one where some dude was in the forest and he can hear movement but can’t see far and when he woke up mid night he saw his flashlight laying in the distance and when he gets out of there someone wrote on his car window “sleep well” but nah scariest would be the dad and son going hunting and there’s nothing and at night there’s someone outside there tent laughing and ran off

You Damn Skippy Sir!! If he or I go into battle, we go into battle. 2 Pits (Brothers) facing down a Cougar 25 meters away and they both took off! Only light source we had was the fire. We took off after them with the intention to kill this Cougar. Thankfully, we trained them properly and they stopped about halfway and came back to us. We would die for them and I already know, they'd died for us from personal experience. Best damn dogs we ever had.

A poignant part of that story for me is when the tapping was occuring the young man said he could feel his dad telling him "just stay right there son. Don't let it in just stay in bed and ihnore it. Because not everyone is a coward that needs a gun to take care of themselves or to feel safe. I been to woods and mountains and deserts and never felt any need to have a gun with me. I am capable, mature adult and self reliant. I don't need a gun to feel safe. I don't need a gun to handle every situation that may come up. As a side note - if a person is not capable and therefor easily scared does have a gun, there is a rather high chance of that person using said gun when they don't need to and killing someone that was never a threat to them in the first place. See the vast amount of police shootings of unarmed civilians. Some of those are justified and some are not. An idiot with a gun is a danger to themselves and others. Edit* - just looked this up for ya. 300,000 murders last year by humans. Roughly 700 deaths by animal attacks per year (average). There is danger is the world - just not really where your fear is at.

Just wrote a long reply to your comment... only for it to get destroyed while editing it... long story short, and without any context... I have watched my parents’ two Siberian huskies chase something out of a closet it my parents home, through the house, up the walls, and onto the ceiling where they growled and barked at whatever they were seeing crawl on the ceiling for 20 minutes. This was just after I got home from football practice and was trying to go relax. It was one of the most disturbing experiences of my life. Writing the story earlier made me tear up and gave me goosebumps. Their are some things we cant forget, for me... that is one of them. This was a sliver of the the experiences from that house. The worst part... this wasn’t even the most disturbing encounter. Recalling the memories brings about an immediate and intense feeling of dread I cannot forget even 10 years after. So here I am.. telling strangers on KZfaq haha. Too bad the rest of the story was deleted... take care friends. Love the ones you love, and keep them close. Everything can be explained, but some explanations might be better left off as mysteries.

It's true, dogs have super senses. I'm retired, but I used to work late then come home to a house with everyone already in bed. I would read or write and unwind awhile before turning in around 1 a.m. or so. We had a Miniature Schnauzer at the time, weighing 30 pounds. He was a good watch dog. One night, after I had come home, he jumped off the recliner where he slept and began barking in a ferocious way that I hadn't heard before. He pointed his nose at the corner of the room. I turned off the lamp and looked out the window. A man was standing well up in the driveway. A big man silhouetted against the snow. He was looking up the driveway toward the garage behind our house. I knew what he wanted---a gas generator I had chained to the freestanding basketball goal. An ice storm had downed our power for the past week, and I had borrowed the generator from my brother-in-law. But the man in the driveway was too late; I had returned it after the power came back on. After my initial surprise, I looked again but the guy had gone. My dog had saved the day. I mean night.

This quote makes complete sense, if there's a presence anywhere near you, whether the light is on or not, the presence itself is staying right there regardless. Mind you, this quote was written by a worldwide famous philosopher who was known for being a skeptical about anyone and anything which doesn't have a rational explanation. @@saidavalet6710 because we as people tend to let our minds be creative when I’m the dark. Hearing noises that if the lights were on we wouldn’t think twice about what it is. People fear what they cannot see. People tend to fear what your brain cannot give an answer to in my opinion. So a leaf being blown by the wind in the light you can see what caused the noise. The wind blowing the leaf in darkness your brain might process it as someone walking on the leaves.

It’s been going on for years… I just leave sometimes and my dog watches towards my room and kisses me occasionally to calm me down… Idk what it wants and why it does it but I can feel its presence rn in my bedroom and I’m just like “welp! What do ya do?!” At this point… A couple nights ago it tapped my shoulder while I was drifting off then I saw its massive shadowy hand above my face slowly descending towards it. I just sighed and turned on the lights but it was still in the room so I went to the couch… Just why spirit? What did I do? Are you reading this right now? Come on dude.

@@od3910 I’m guessing you live in a city. Many kids could easily go to a (this case their family’s) camp alone, especially if there’s video games. Ironically the parts where it’s the worst idea is probably where it’s more common, the places where kids are used to the wilderness That’s why there are so many “snowflakes” online. All the “stupid” kids are doing stuff outside. A human is more likely to harm you than anything in nature.

Depends where the city is? America? Absolutely. And yes, it is a primal fear. It's called " fear of the unknown". To quote the great HP Lovecraft, " the oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is *fear*. And the oldest and strongest kind of fear is *fear of the unknown*." This is why we are afraid of the dark. We don't know what out there. This is why disembodied noises are scary - we don't know it's origin. And what you don't know, your head fills in the blanks.
@HoseTheBeast
@HoseTheBeast 5 ай бұрын
@@captainp.2721 No😂 the primal fear of the dark is because of nocturnal predators. We have been afraid of the dark because WE HAVE known what is out there… Today though humans are the apex predator even to other humans and fear of the dark(for a possible predator) is statistically foolish considering you are infinitely more likely to be killed by another human.

Exactly. And a cabin on my bachelor is bs. It’s a forest service land and if there was land for cabins they would be resort rentals. It’s a tourist area full of Oregon yuppies. Even miles into the woods you will run into granola suburbanites from bend Oregon. And Asian mushroom pickers and climbers, snowmachiners, mountain climbers because the three sisters and broken top trailheads are also accessible nearby. This story is BS.

Something knocked over a tree at me in a jungle like forest in the northeast, I tried to go straight and a tree fell on the other side. I took it as a sign my hike had to be cut short and I turned around. I was terrified at the noises I was hearing and the fact that one of the trees sounded alive and the cracks were loud, but I’d probably have had a heart attack if I never thought about this type of stuff

Hey Mr. Ballen. I was born and raised in Oregon. I''m a 67. Yr old grandma. I've spent a lot of time in the woods here!! I'm very at home in our woods. One year while we were hunting something screamed at us!!!! I know our native animals. It was extremely close to us!! Just feet away!! It scared us so badly that we left the woods!!! It was halfway between a howl and a scream!! It was a blood curdling scream!! Yet we c OI uld not see it!!! It was within feet of us!!! To this day we don't know what it was. We've heard many bigfoot sounds that various people have recorded My husband and I are almost certain that it was a bigfoot !!! It was very loud and very close!! Bigfoot doesn't scare me but something that loud and only feet away and invisible to us, DOES!!!! Thank you for the videos!!

Very likely a cougar or mountain lion. Google them screaming and see if that sounds like it (I hope so!) There's a old adage, for every time you see a cougar, it's seen you 100x.
@ryanmiller1317
@ryanmiller1317 3 жыл бұрын
I feel like if it were a cougar within a few feet of them, and they turned and ran, it would have chased. I was leaving a friends house one night, he lives almost at the bottom of a mountain, and as we walked outside talking kind of loud and chillin on his porch for a minute we hear this crazy ass roar/scream (a mountain lion, I googled it) and then this thing starts slinking down the hill trying to be quiet and investigate what all the noise is about. Then it stops just behind the tree line and watches as were both blindly looking towards the woods whispering to each other and waiting for something to happen. We went back in his house for a few minutes hoping it would get bored then I finally left on my bicycle. Wasted no time getting out of the area that night. I feel like the mt lion was ready to jack some other animal but we scared it’s prey away and pissed it off, then it came down to see if it could eat us instead. Luckily I’m a big dude (Fairly confident I could hold my own in a fight with a mt lion but I wouldn’t volunteer) and there were two of us. We couldn’t see this thing at all but he was watching us intently trying to figure out if he wanted to make a move or not. Terrifying stuff.
