5 Techniques to use Patterned Paper in Cardmaking | Collab with Rise and Procraftinate

Hi Everyone,
This month Amanda and I decided to pull out some patterned paper and share some ways to use it in cardmaking. You know me, I'm a huge fan of patterned paper, she doesn't use it as often, so I'm super excited to see the cards / projects she comes up with.
Normally when we do a collaboration like this I will make a card with each technique. This time I decided to do something a bit different. I made a single card with all the techniques. I'd love to know what you think of my card.

I really like this presentation and the way you set it up. If I didn't get it all because it was kind of speedy, I can just watch it again. Easy peasy. Love the use of scraps for the background.

I find patterned papers to be scary to use together...so many patterns!...but THIS....wow! I love this! The ink blending on the edges really adds that something special.Thank you for the tutorial. I learned so much :)

So many techniques in one card! Stamping on printed paper, layering with vellum, using strip scraps in a background, making a scene, and stamping the inside. Whew! All that I want to start doing more of. Thanks for sharing!

Do happy to see someone working with patterned papers , especially scraps ! I Love working with patterned paper , I have hundreds of paper pads full of lovely papers yet it seems to be forgotten ( at least for now ) in the KZfaq card world of stamps and dies.....I still use it every day even if just for small embellishments or words etc .

Oh wow! What a lovely scene 💖! Renee, you always amaze me with your creativity! I love how you made those mountains purple! When I was a kid we used to go with my parents to the neighbour town and there is a place called Blue Rocks Nature Park. So there are rocky hills that are that kind of purple as in your card, especially around sunset time 😊

Awww, Bory. I'm so glad you enjoyed this video. We have the Blue hills by me, they are just shy of mountain tops and look blue because of the blue fir trees on them. They are very pretty. I think our Rocky Mountains look purple in certain light which is where the purple mountains magesty came from. Thank you for sharing the story about the blue rocks nature park with me. -Renee'

Delaney, this is. By far the most intracut paper piecing I have ever seen. A real master piece and then some. I am in love with this card. I have done very minimal paper piecing. I will try and go a step further, thanks to you. I've learned a lot from this tutorial. Tfs. Hugs!

Awe, thanks Donna. Just squint. If it seems like a solid color then, it is a solid color in something like this. Also, a big, medium and small print will work well together. Those two things should trump any imagination you think you need for this. You can do it!

You have such great ideas when it comes to designing cards. I have never tried paperpiecing with pattern paper but I've seen it done. I definitely need to give it a try. I tend to use pattern paper more often when I scrapbook because sometimes I feel like I don't know what to do with it when making a card.

Glad you enjoyed it! editing is a double edged sword. It is nice to make a short video but sometimes it is nice to show the technique or tips that helped get to the end result. And the balance of both is hard to maneuver sometimes. So I value that you appreciate all my hard work that went into this video. It means so very much.

Thank you for this. I have done simple strips on cards or envelopes, but never a scene cause I don't have any dies,yet for that. Lol. Will look a patterned papers/cardstock different now.. just starting doing some of things with patterned paper.Have to get out of my comfort zone. I have same issue with material having prints.What to put together. Thanks for sharing this.. loved the card alot.
