#1, the tt is designed to be a luxurious car, so its meant to be quiet, not super loud. Car sounds good stock or with cat-back, may not be the loudest but it purrs and that's awesome, 1000Xs better than a ricer fart can haha. I am sure our tiny turbo and bad exhaust manifold is to thank for that. VR6 sounds better but honestly really isn't better for tuning, because N/A is hard to gain power #2 I agree the misfire thing is terrible, had that problem #3 K03 is decent, but still small as crap, I have stretched mine to about 230 hp and 250 lb/ft with tune, intake, intercoolers, fuel injectors, etc, all in plan for a BT. If you go K04, DO NOT waste your time on the K04-001 kits, its not the 225 one and you will not see much gain over your current K03, so if you're pulling the manifold get a 225 manifold and get a K04-020 turbo, that is the 225 turbo, you will need a new downpipe tho, so up to you, just saying if the K03 pisses you off the grand spent on a K04-001 is not gonna be worth it #4 aftermarket parts tend to be cheaper for our TT than stock parts, yes they're expensive but that is because the market for modded 1.8T TT's is not that large, more for the GTI crowd, granted parts are usually similar. **That is a short ram intake btw #5 oil filter is a pain, but it is not a sway bar, sway bar is back towards the exhaust side of the engine, that is the cross-over pipe that the 225 uses to connect the 2 intercoolers, trust me i used it for my IC project cause i run two SMICs now on my 180 haha. But there are six bolts holding that up, just work around it from down below or drop it and you'll get easy access. still going to be messy either way because its still in an awful spot. Anyways, hope some of that helped

KO3S, in my opinion is a pretty good turbo and gives you that low end torque that you like, the K04 really doesn't sing until >3000 but does hold it's boost higher up so more ponies, I just wonder if your auto-box is setup for the K04?

awesome video. I have a 2001 TT too, and have had the same aggravation. coil packs must be replaced and it is soooo quiet. also going the same route with upgrading to the ko4, just waiting on the manifold.

Nice review! The coil pack thing was definitely a good tip. But a couple things: Why did you show the charger in the intro?? lol But you know you can buy adapters for universal cone filters. You could've gotten that for $50.

you can remove the oil filter from underneath, but i know what you mean, there is really not much space to do this

Got the same car... that's not a cold air intake...you got short ram intake.. cold air intake are located in front of the driver side wheel well....that's why they call it a cold air intake because it's away from the engine...oh an you tilt the oil filter a little sideways so you can pull it out from under the car...

OMG why spend $350 on an air filter that bolts to your MAF? you easily could have made your own for under $40. i used a couple silicone couplers on the end of the MAF housing and a spare 3" aluminum tube and put the high flow filter on and i was good to go.

I love Mine, 225HP 6 speed ( Manual) AWD, If you're a car guy the maintenance not bad, if not fuck off. Get a civic. I've had mine over a year, replaced the driver CV and transmission mount. Easy to do, a toddler could do it. Car fax say timing belt has been changed. I'm changing it anyway, but have always worked on my own shit. If you cant do that get a civic. The book that teaches you is around 100 US dollars, If you cant read get a civic. This is the only car I've ever personally seen or driven that can burn all 4 tires at the same time.
