Hi! I'm Emily and I'm a 4th year studying a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at UNSW. I hope this video gives some insight into what studying psychology degree is like.
Note: I mention the Master of Clinical, Forensic and Organisational Psychology because those are the 3 MAIN masters program offered in Australia. There are many other psychology masters program that are also offered.

The first thing a psychology student needs to know is - have you healed your own trauma? Going straight from school into psychology seems wrong. We need to become wise through life experience before we can help other people.

Thanks, awesome video, this reminds me of my uni days many years ago, it's tough studying for a uni degree but it beats working where you'll have to deal with more than just work, the office politics is the crazy part. Anyway, all the best with your studies!

Thank you very much for sharing the information. It’s so helpful. I’m much older than you and have been thinking of building a new career. This could be a huge strategy for me but it might be worth trying even though there’s a lot to prepare to enrol (definitely not now tho) Thank you again and good luck with your study.

This was so helpful, thank you! Definitely help me change my mind as I had no idea the course length was so long and so competitive. Studying for 3 years and not getting into honours would be a real bummer!

Essay writing is competitive at university that it leaves little room for creativity. Because access to google its too easy to absorb a lot of information. That someone that is good at reword and reading they can far out perform someone else that is trying to carefully put forth ideas.
