Audrey did some bad things in “Descendants 3” as the Queen of Mean. But was she really a villain? Sure, she cast a sleep spell over Auradon and even turned some people to stone - but she still made some rookie mistakes along the way. If “Descendants 4” ever happens, they’re going to need a more competent villain. Dove Cameron shut all of Audrey’s spells down as Mal in “D3.” Mal has a lot more experience than Audrey does at evil deeds. Audrey had to fight against all the united villain kids. When Uma, Harry, and Gil teamed up with Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay, they became unstoppable.
Audrey wasn’t as powerful or as mean as she wished she could be. She couldn’t even exert power over Celia, who was way smaller than her. When Mal turned into a dragon and reignited the ember, it truly was game over for the Queen of Mean. Here are five things that prove Audrey wasn’t really a villain in “Descendants 3.”

For me, the real villian for D3 was Queen Leah, Audrey's grandmother. Because she puts son much pressure on Audrey and what she said in the Beal engagement really put Audrey sad and give the feel that for her she has to be the Queen of Auradon no matter what. Since I saw her in the first movie, i knew that se would do or said something that Audrey would feel like she's failing her family. That's why for me, she's the real villian in this movie

Audrey’s mom - Walks to the green magic of the spinning wheel. Audrey - Walks to the green magic. Malificent - Sends people to sleep because she wasn’t invited. Audrey - Isnt invited to the party and sends everybody to sleep. Does the sceptor have a curse on it the same way Audrey’s mom was being called by the spinning wheels green majestic shine? And, this video was saying about how Audrey didn’t turn Mal to stone, the ember must have been immune, even though it got in water it was still shining a little bit.

She didn’t turn mal into stone because she wanted her to feel alone , and feel the pain that she’s been feeling like having everything ripped away from you from one second to the next you’re whole life in shambles. She wanted to see her sad and vulnerable she thought it was more satisfying than just turning her to stone

Actually mal turned back because first there is no magic in the isle of the lost,second hades ember destroyed malefacient spell. Extra fact: If you listen closely in queen of mean,when she was looking at the scepter you can hear “Audrey” so it was malefacients staff and remember malefacient wanted revenge to in the real life version of Malefacient so it was revenge and malefacients staff

My theory is that the sceptre(or Malifecent) possessed Audrey and was controlling her body. In her solo, she says: All of my senses have left me defenceless. She's defenceless against this magic that took over her body/senses. The staff felt her anger and thought that she could be a good host for it or Malifecent. She turned evil kind of in the same way Princess Luna from My Little Pony did. Both were angry, jealous and wanted revenge on somebody specific. Both characters looks changed when they became fully evil. Both became overwhelmed with power. Both of them came extremely close to winning, but lost. And both came to their original forms, seeming confused about what just happened. So Audrey is innocent!(I think so atleast)

I think that when Audrey transformed in the song was when the spell was actually cast. The singing before that could've been to show that she was just upset and she didn't take it well. But the scepter called her and put the evil spell on her.

And Mal knew that Audrey was still mad at her for stealing Ben. Funny thing is that everyone turned against Audrey when Mal and Ben were dating. It's sad. Especially when she said," There's nothing to lose when you're lonely and friendless". I really understood her. And I like how Chad still stayed by her side through good and evil. They're an amazing couple, even though Audrey broke up with him.

My theory is that Audrey was powerful with the sceptre. But becase Mal is the descendant of Maleficent, she has the powers of her mother and father while Audrey only has the power of the sceptre. Maybe that's why Mal puts a spell on the enchanted armour and it was that easy. And when Mal and the crew were trapped and Audrey put a spell on the house to lock them up, Mal was afraid to loose her friends so she wasn't fully capable of her powers. That's why Uma and Mal combined their powers and lifted the spell.

Malificent's septer couldn't just calling her of it own. Don't forget that Malificent is alive and she may control the scepter. That's why Audrey's spells don't work. Because Malificent isn't too evil to destroy her own daughter. That's what I think

It was the septor, Audrey said something was pulling her. As for mal going back to herself.. spells don't work in the isle. The other spells didn't work because she doesn't have the experience. That's why mal struggled with magic at first.

Audrey should’ve been punished for her actions because of how she treated everyone, treated herself as well because it was her own self that she had to beat as well while she was evil, but the sceptre probably put a curse on her because it sensed her need for revenge and Malificent wanted revenge on queen Leah and same with Audrey because she should’ve been queen with Ben but she was definitely too demanding. Big mistake Audrey big mistake for trying to separate Mal and Ben

The spell failed cause the lady had 0 inner magic to reinforce them. As for responsibilty shes guilty of being reckless. Adults are drag to court for major recklesness but she aint quite adult.but at least some kind of supervision is in order. Tracking device maybe?

I think Audrey should have faced some punishment. She did break into the museum with what appeared to be the intention of destroying the crown of the Queen of Auradon, which left her wide open to the influence of the staff and she did do all of those terrible things. (Despite being influenced by the staff) I’m not saying her punishment should be as severe as locking her up or stripping her of her title or anything but she did deserve some punishment. (Perhaps community service or some sort of job for a designated period of time)

Actually they did break in but they didn’t manage to steal or destroy anything, and there was no evidence of it. The only morally questionable thing Mal and the VKs did was Mal giving Ben a love potion and using her spell-book to fit in. And if you count Uma and her crew (which I don’t) Umas stunt at the cotillion and the trio escaping the island (ultimately to help everyone!) I don’t count Uma, Harry, or Gill because they weren’t released from the island by Ben. (Thus technically not part of the Aurodon VK crew)

Audrey broke in, busted the crown display for the crown, knocked over a display of poison apples, (which I hope were all found) stole both the crown and maleficents staff, put a sleep spell over most of the kingdom, cursed Mal into a hag, turned the other half into stone, tortured Chad charming, turned Ben into a beast, attacked our seven heroes with suits of armor, and kidnapped Dr Facilies daughter. I would say purely because of the amount of danger she put everyone in she should face some simple punishment.

Ok so I completely disagree on everything you say 1. Audrey wanted to punish Chad but she even says you can be useful She didn’t want to destroy him 2. Audrey wasn’t under a spell In the beginning of Queen of Mean she literally drew her villain look meaning she planned that also if it was a spell by maleficent than she would’ve taken the wand and brought down the barrier it obviously was all on her own 3. We all know that evil magic doesn’t work on the isle Celia even says it in D3 plus mal did have trouble fighting of the knights and technically it did work In D1 Mal’s love spell was washed away by the enchanted lake water so all magic is washed of by that and Jane even says it can only do so much 4. Audrey wasn’t trying to hurt CELIA she was trying I lure Mal to her duh 🙄 5. If she turned Mal to stone then she wouldn’t suffer and feel how she felt Audrey did more damage to auradon in 1 day than maleficent and Mal did in WEEKS IN D1 SHE WAS THE TRUE QUEEN OF MEAN IN DESCENDANTS AND DESERVES RESPECT

The spells would have been permanent if it was mal because the staff was made by maleficent therefore only people with maleficent s blood would be able to make stronger spells because of heritage and connection to the staff

Audreys spells don't work because she's only using the scepter. She doesn't have any powers, unlike mal and uma, and wouldn't be nearly as powerful as people who do

When Audrey locked chad in the closet the plank starts to go down and so how did it go back up she had to use magic to close it see it doesn't make sense
