I agree. I don't mix edm but that merge knob just spoils it for the people like James Hype who do it all themselves. It's not fair if someone can press a button that does everything for them and everyone around them thinks there is loads of skill involved.

@@paweldorosz3825 Only the auxiliary cable you have to plug in for your dj controller, You might have just a little tiny delay but it is worth it, You can also use the JBL charge 4 or JBL xtreme speakers 💯💯💯

@@digitaldjtips be careful some great old hardware isn't compatible with anything today (unfortunately) i came across some great devices that I didn't buy because I couldn't find a way to be sure they worked on windows 7 (at least) like the xponent from M audio, the first NS7 or the allen heath xone 3D. No idea about Mac

I find the info on the jog wheels are super gimmicky. It's a tiny little screen that looks cool but I've never heard of anyone that just looks at that and not the computer. It's just not practical.

Not sure why you want to change from your SX2. They are different controllers, but one is not immediately better than the other.

I have both. The SX2 works with both RB and Serato, but with the 1000 you have to pick one or the other. The 1000 has some extra features, but the build quality doesn't inspire confidence. Compared to the SX2, the 1000 feels light and cheaply made. You can do a couple of things to enhance your system without spending a ton of money on a new controller. If you need more buttons/functionality, you can get something like a Launchpad Pro, and just map features to it. Its very easy to do. Also, a lot of mobile DJ's are finding out that adding a small analog mixer to their setups is a really smart move. It takes care of all the mic issues that mobile DJ's seem to run into. Its also the best way to do a back up in case something happens to your controller. You can have your computer connected to your controller and a stereo input on an external mixer at the same time. Mixing from a laptop isn't ideal, but its better than an iPhone. If you do a search on youtube, there are plenty of mobile DJ's that go over all the details better than I can.

Agreed, a bit more flexibility would really make it more attractive a proposition, although no controllers have memory card slots.

The xlr option isn't the big deal everyone makes it out to be. There's a difference between having a component with xlr connectors on it and having a balanced component. Most of the time when people connect everything with xlr cables, they don't meet all the requirements for balanced operation. And if you don't have everything exactly right, its identical to using rca cables. If you really need a balanced connection, like you sometimes do when plugging into a big club system, just use a DI box. That's what they're for. It should be better because the components in a DI box are usually better than whatever a low to mid price controller is going to have built into the output stage.

I think you need to decide what software you want to be using long term and then the controller choice is an easy one

Yes, BUT Serato DJ Pro with this is NOT Serato DJ Suite, that you need for Pitch 'n Time (proper keyshifting). I'd stick with the FLX4 and Rekordbox if it were me.
