We need a front player who is strong enough to hold the ball ( in our case, Lacazette is the only player who can do that) he's able to hold the ball up and give the mids a chance to link in attack, especially when we're getting pressed hard. In midfield we still dont have that player who can get out of tight spaces( Cazorla comes to mind). So we will always struggle against giod pressing.

One more thing we learnt from this game: Arteta doesn't learn from past mistakes 1. Why is Saka on the left and not right were he obviously plays better ? 2. Why Is Odegard sitting deep ? 3. Why is Laca not starting, he is a natural 9, yes auba tries but only laca can run deep to receive the ball and start an attack, only Laca can link up well with those kids holding the ball. and many more. This job is way to big for Arteta.

He's trying to innovate by putting in Odegaard in CM when he isn't that - he's a number 10. Playing Pepe to keep him happy just for the sake of it, Partey as an anchor when he just isn't that guy. The whole Arsenal team lack wining mentality. The final third was very very poor... Nicolas Pepe is always being dispossess and I think Martinelli deserves to start as he looked energetic and skillful. Lacazette and Auba should start against Aston Villa.

The players looked tired and haggard. Passes didn't stick and ball control was pathetic. Pepe can't dribble past any LB but keeps holding on to the ball. There was barely any chemistry between players (apart from the Tomi and Pepe 1-2 that led to the goal). Odegaard was woeful, Tierney was scared to even move a muscle beyond the Palace RB. These players are being overcoached and forced to stick to their position, rather than be fluid and dynamic. The creativity was nowhere to be found.

Sambi and partey had noone to pass to. Their option to pass to had players marking them. They both got forced to pass and both got fouled after they passed the ball. partey got his foot stood on sambi got hacked.
