Nice video, and nicely found! I got another tip for you, but I don't know if this applies to the Push 1, but even so... this _seriously_ helped me out: record + new. This enables MIDI capture, so everything you played during the session will now get captured and stored in a new MIDI clip. So basically it allows you to play and "do" stuff without the dreaded red recording signals which, for some reason, sometimes manage to distract me enough for my recording to fail.

WOW! I didn't know about this. As soon as I read your comment, I went to try it and it does work on Push 1! I have been using the Capture MIDI button at the top but doing it directly from Push makes it much quicker and easier. I am already working on a part 2 to this video with 5 more tips. I will mention that in it (and credit you, of course!) Thanks so much for watching the video and for taking the time to mention that. I hope you're making some great music!!!

@@olivier7593 Hi. As far as I know Ableton has always updated the Push 1 until today. In my case - I use Bitwig - there is someone who publishes excellent scripts for the Push series (and other controllers), some of which have more extensive functions than in Ableton. The Push 1 is a bit clunky and the pads are not as sensitive as the Push 2, but it's still a great controller and a no-brainer for 80 bucks. You should just ask what the surface is like, if you handle it wrong the whole thing is completely sticky because of the rubber surface.

@@olivier7593 Dang I just bought a Push 1 today for $120 USD. I'd go for it. Compare to the popular mini midi controllers right now that cost as much or more that can't even do half as much! That's my thinking.

Though it would depend on the condition, it could be a fun purchase. Push 1 is definitely still very useable (I make tracks with it daily). I actually recorded a video about whether it's still relevant today but the quality was bad. I plan to try recording it again one of these days.

It can be tough to tell because since they've been around a while, some Push 1 units are in better shape than others. If you buy it make sure all of the buttons / knobs / lights / cables are working normally and the power supply works. Good luck with your decision!
