Barth Slung Not the only such case. dental Corps Captain Ben Salomon, acting as Battalion Surgeon for 2nd Bn 105th Infantry, died defending his aid station against a Japanese Banzai attack on Saipan. He was recommended for the Medalof Honor. The recommendation was initiallydisapproved. I read that one reason was that, as Medical Personnel he was not permitted by there Geneva Convention to take up arms against the enemy. The award was finally approved about 50 years after his death.
@jstringfellow19618 жыл бұрын
+Barth Slung he knew. When you die you don't just go into the ground. He knows what's going on, and you can bet he would do things much differently now than our current NON METAL winning president. (unless you count golf, I'm told he's pretty good at that)

+Jamie 123 Don't laugh. The Devil's Brigade (1st Special Service Force) was created in WW II as a joint unit of American and Canadians. Read the book and watch the movie. Today's Green Berets see themselves as a continuation of that unit. You should learn about the Canadian Army before you mock it or discount its effectiveness. Would be awful, actually. Considering how most American soldiers are conservative and i'd rather not have a gun toting, war scarred, religious crusader as a leader. Conservatives will talk your ear off about the constitution and democracy! But they're the first ones to influence politics with religion which is against our constitution and democracy.

While in Signal I served in Engineer, Artillery, Infantry and Air Cav units. Which is why I love the Signal Corps - you can go to any type unit, anywhere in the world.

I was watching the Weather Channel and it was talking about Hurricane Katrina (I live in New Orleans) and I saw a person that looked and sounded a lot like you. You were talking about all the looting and murdering going on and when you came across a group of people trying to steal your car and scared them off with your AK.

LOL checked out on the M109 155MM self propelled howitzer (the short barreled one). one thing about this weapon was in the event WWIII broke out in Europe and everything went nuclear, we were the first field American howitzer to fire nuclear artillery shells.

The American assault line consisted of the following regiments: From the far left, attacking what later became known as San Juan Hill, was the 6th Infantry, the 9th Infantry, the 13th Infantry, the 16th Infantry, the 24th (Colored) Infantry, the 10th (Colored) Cavalry (the 10th was the only unit that assaulted both high points on the San Juan heights), with the 3rd Cavalry, 1st Volunteer Cavalry on the far right, attacking what later became known as Kettle Hill. But look at who took credit for the main hill
