Hotels are another thing, I feel, to pay with a credit card. I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, and it wasn't up to par, as far as the a/c working, the fridge broken, problems with the shower, etc. The hotel was not willing to work with me what so ever, or take care of the problems. So, afterwards I called Chase, let them know the issues, and I was able to get a charge back. No problems, after that.

Really enjoy seeing Sebby and Shifu together. Sebby, I really like Shifu's video on tiering cards. I think you should do a video expanding on it. He only gave ~5 examples for each tier. I think a lot more cards can be added to each tier. Think about it!

Hi Sebby, just got back from Manila, Sunday, Last night. I didn't know anything about the transfer part except for CSR and Freedom. The only cards I have are the CSR, AAD Plat, ADD Gold, and Simmons 1st Card (Regular). I only have debt on my CSR and I will be clearing that on tomorrow, Tuesday, the 29th of August. I had to make sure I didn't have any problems while I was out of the country. Ben, you, Sebby and Mandy keep my life out of trouble and improve it, as well. Thank you.

My parents have a card that gives them priority boarding and lounge access free with Aer Lingus. I use mine mostly just for groceries as I get cash back with certain supermarkets and petrol, and online shopping

Ive actually had a Discover It Platinum credit card account opened for nearly 6 years and have used it for 4/5 things listed here. Never missed a single payment and my Credit Score went from 392 and now I'm at 798 which in terms of Credit Approval is considered a perfect score... So I might be cancelling the credit account soon once I pay my next payment completely off. And then start a new credit account with Capital One which also has amazing reviews

Proper way to use credit is to charge all your basic living expenses (thats your budget). After that months billing cycle closes, pay the balance in full on the due date, which will be in the following month (approx 25-28 days later). Rimse and repeat. Keep your utilization to 20% or below if possible. If you follow these two techniques your credit score will sky rocket. Your welcome.

What if you book a flight and cancel the flight withing the allotted time by the airline, then the airline refunds the ticket price back to your credit card but still charge you for their administrative fee they call it? I did this recently and they put all of the ticket price back but not the $25.00 fee. Since I didn't fly shouldn't they have refunded all of the money back?

Are you calling in for the cancellation? I haven't had to deal with such a fee for the times I've needed to do this (SW, Delta, United, Virgin). I'm not sure about other airlines. I would contact them and ask why a fee was levied.

Yes I called the airline directly instead of going through the website. I did this assuming that the representative could assist me in getting the cheapest flight available however NOT KNOWING THAT I WAS BEING CHARGED $25.00 for speaking with them. A RIPOFF I THINK but I learned a lesson.

So i have a question. Which travel points memberships or CC travel portals can I use where i can pay partially with points and the rest with cash/credit. I know most travel memberships don't let you split. Its either pay for your trip all in cash or all in points.

Say I don't have enough points to completely pay for a vacation flight or hotel, but I have enough points to at least minimize the damage to my wallet...Would it would be wise to use points in the sense, or is this the wrong approach in your opinion.

That's fine. Chase/Amex/Citi allow you to do this without issues if you're booking through the portal.

I would do it, but I wouldn't rely on the payments. Pay it off in full after the purchase. The main benefit of credit cards to me is that you'll get extra cash back and you'll also get purchase/theft protection for 90 days. Some cards also provide damage insurance as long as you pay off your monthly statement with the card (Wells Fargo cards as well as the Chase Ink Preferred provide this benefit).

Basically just get the Amex Platinum card (look at our Year 1 calculation; most people get positive expected value in Year 1 making the $550 a lot more reasonable after credits and signup bonus).
