In the case of "Did you forget about your OTHER opponent" that cutscene happened so often because the "other opponent" was actually a locked superstar or diva and you had to beat them to unlock them.

Actually, in wwe smackdown svr 2011, Vince comes and gives you another opponent because you finished a certain challenge like so many matches won on a show and he would send an opponent out and if you were then to beat them you would unlock him for universe and expedition play.

2011 "other opponent" was a reward for playing matches and it was to unlock the hidden characters

I think there was one in the first Smackdown Vs Raw game: • You win a special referee match to retain your title, but the decision is reversed and you "lose" the title (only to wear a duplicate of the belt). There was also a last man standing match in the same rivalry when the special ref of the earlier match would interfere at the last second to end the match in a draw.

I remember one in SD Vs RAW 07 (I think it was that one) where you're in a ladder match for the WWE title and just when you're about to win, Trish Stratus runs up and grabs the title. No matter if you or the opponent are about to win, same scenario.

Remember in SVR (2005) when Vince says he's gonna help you become champion if you do his dirty work? Then when you turn down his offer he makes himself the special guest referee in your championship match. If you try to pin your opponent, he doesn't even count. He just stands there.. literally an unwinnable match 😂

Also, there's a few in the recent WWE2K games where the pin meter is greyed out and no matter what buttons you push, you lose the match. Or, just like the preceding games before them, you do everything you can to win the match & it even looks like you've won, because you got the 3 count (or 10 count in Last Man Standing matches) & your entrance music plays, but then, the decision is reversed due to some shenanigans from corrupt management who are seemingly against you progressing forward with the game.

What about in the original SDvR when there was a special guest referee in your title match who was against you and if you managed to win, Mr. McMahon voided the match and you automatically lose the title via roll up.

There is many situations like this in SVR 2007 where you can't win a match, like for example in a ladder match against Chris Masters, Trish will knock you off the ladder and help Masters win

Yep I had that happen to me only because I was against The Authority which I was for the entirety of MyCareer Mode. Apparently those who remain allied with The Authority don't have it happen to them.

I'm surprised you left out 2k14 and it's beat the streak mode. It's played on the hardest difficulty, and you have to defeat the undertaker, but he gets 3 guaranteed chokeslams and 3 (2 if you reverse the last one) tombstones, and the last one is when the lights go out, you have maybe a frame or 2 to reverse it.

There was another unwinnable match, probably in the first smackdown vs raw, where Vince would be the special referee and he would just refuse to count any of your pins. All you had to do was to lose the match in order to progress in the storyline.

There's also another unwinnable match on Smackdown! Here Comes the Pain on No Way Out after winning the Royal Rumble Match. It was a Last Man Standing match and it ends with the lights turned off, a ref bump, and Vince McMahon appearing. Your opponent then knocks you out with a chair, then the referee gets up, and counts you out.

WWE 2k17: In Career Mode you had to put on 5 Star matches and let the opponent's beat you up for a bit just so you'd get more points to progress. When you beat opponents easily and quickly you slowed down your rang list progress immensely. And it was super slow to begin with.

There is another example of an unwinnable match. Story mode of the DS version of SmackDown VS Raw 2010 you are ambushed in I think the parking lot and forced to run a gauntlet and I can't recall if during the first match or second match but you pass out and stripped of your championship chance or something.

There was a match in Day of Reckoning where you had to go up against Big Show and I'm pretty sure they bumped up the difficulty or something, because you couldn't actually pin him or tap him out, you had to let him beat you.

There was a moment in svr 2008 24/7 mode where if you made it to the No Way Out storyline as either the WWE champion or world heavyweight champion, you would face an opponent in a no dq match only for Undertaker to come out and attack you, and your opponent would win. The next week, you would be put in a tag team match against Undertaker and the opponent from the previous week, only for Undertaker to take out your partner and make it handicap match.

I remember my niece came and got me one time to help her on No Mercy, apparently there was a Womens storyline, she got to the end to fight Stephanie for the title and instead she makes it to where you have to beat Triple H for the Divas title lol she lost a bunch of times and I see why, they ramped the difficulty up so damn high lmao it took a couple of hours for me to beat that shit

2k15 first match had you lose to Barron Blade, who basically causes you to be stripped, because if he didnt attack you, you wouldnt have to invade nxt and qnger Triple H

I remember SVR 07's career mode during the WrestleMania rivalry with the Undertaker, where if you won a backstage brawl against Kane before the Pay-Per-View, they made the match a HIAC triple threat against the Undertaker and Kane

SVR 2006 the William and eugene story line where you were supposed to take William's place and defend the tag team titles and the Chris Masters story line too in the same year and both are in RAW

No Mercy on 64 where the damage you took carried over to the next match(es) in the story mode. WWF 2K19 where you kick the shit out of whomever, then they don’t tap to a submission or kick out of the finisher, then counter EVERYTHING until they win

Another moment when you can’t win, WWE2K19 Chapter 13 after winning a match vs evolution at Fastlane AJ Styles and Finn Balor beat you up, with AJ cashing in for your universal championship, where he promptly pins you in a cutscene

We also can't win a match in sdhctp when in season mode as john cena When u win royal rumble u will get a fight with the last opponent u eliminated . if u lose u lose ur wrestlemania opportunity . Day of Reckoning had you face off against an opponent with maxed stats. Big Show on Smackdown (who is impossible to beat). Ric Flair on Raw (who can be beaten, but is highly difficult).

Does anyone else remember in SVR 08 there was an umwinnable match agaisnt the great Khali? I don’t really remember the circumstances or how the cutscene played out, but I remember there was a cutscene where he decimates you and you lose no matter what. Might’ve been in Smackdown vs Raw 06 but I know it was one of those two games

Re: interferences: when I first got WWE 2K18, I fought Roman Reigns with someone like Rollins or AJ. I dominated him for like 20 minutes, but he kicked out of every finisher I hit him with. It finally ends when, with Roman’s whole body in dark red, Braun Strowman decides to run out and attack Roman, getting me DQ’d. Hilarious.

The biggest one that comes to mind is wwe2k16 and beyond where if you challenge the champion too early it doesn't matter how good you or your character is the champion will reverse everything you throw at him and beat you down with relative ease

The storyline in HCTP always amused me despite the unwinnable match. The first time you ever play it puts someone like Christian up as your rival (based on an actual TV storyline, I think), but after playing it several times and beating everyone so much it eventually started giving me Stone Cold as the massive underdog challenger because he'd slipped so far down the rankings lol.

in WWE 2k17 or 16 if you call out the champion of that belt if your super low on the contender list they will have unlimited reversals and be up to green while you are up to yellow and if you win you don't get the belt or move up one

The first Smackdown vs Raw. In the vs McMahon before Wrestlemania, you have a three on one handicap match. In your favor if you're dirty, against you if you're clean. I managed to win that one once. Clean meter for full, spider suplexed McMahon and frog splashed him hitting the other two in the process and won. Couldn't believe it myself.

I actually had a situation in Smackdown 2's season mode where I had my WWF championship stolen after I won my match. Straight after the match I (as Kane) was being interviewed by Michael Cole when my opponent (The Rock) attacked me and stole my belt, to add insult to injury the match graphic then showed that I somehow lost my match.

In one of the wwe 2k games they’d punish you for being to brutal. I was fighting AJ styles in a no DQ falls count anywhere match. I battered him with weapons, put him through 4 tables.
