I noticed you have your lights flashing behind the diffuser and the other board. Is this better than having a soft box/flash pointed at the food?

no, so that light on the left hand side is just lighting my room so I can talk on the video and you can see my face. That continuous light doesn't affect how my food looks! The flash on the right does all the work :)

Why do you use diffuser instead of soft box

idk. Personal preference I guess. I switch between hard light and soft light a lot so I'll just pull the diffuser down quick if I want hard light.

@@NickAndersonCreative honestly yourl.are amazing and I learnt much from your channel But I bought a soft box and I don't know why I feel all my lightings are very flat So I am asking you because I learnt shooting thst way from you, so When I didn't like the soft box photos I Said may be you didn't like it too I think its very duffused that make everything soft and as if flat Also can I don't know when to use Grid on soft bix and When not to
