Love these tips, but they definitely won't work for everyone. In a weird and drastic turn of events I have recently switched to damp styling with light mousse and light to medium hold gel instead of the hard stuff. It has given me SOOOOOO much more volume and really beautiful curls. It's all about trial and error.

Curly hair is so weird. I found not conditioning my hair at all gave me super curly, defined style. I am also having a GREAT hair day today and I didn't even try. I also used a bunch of products that didn't work for me in the past and somehow my hair is looking great. Weird

Courtney, it's interesting that you did this video now. A few days ago I've been debating getting a trim, but decided not to on account of how am I going with my hair in the heat. My top two tips for dealing with the heat in the summer hair-wise are: 1) right before summer starts, don't cut/trim your hair so short you can't have it off your neck, 2) when it's hot out, do full updos/folded up braids/anything that gets all of your hair off your neck.

Weird that you think summer means higher humidity. I would think it would be the opposite for West Texas. I'm in Central Texas and it's definitely drier during the summer. I have an important question that I hope they you can answer... With the curlsmith bonding oil..you are saying to put it into your hair and to leave it in your hair all day. Since it's protein rich, it won't cause protein over load in the hair? Please answer if you can as I'm very curious to know the answer to this. Thank you!!

Hi Courtney, why do you choose for the moisture memory leave in, when your hair gets overmoisturized easily in summer because of humidity? It has glycerine very high on the ingrediënt list. I am experimenting with products that are resistant to humidity, like the hask curl cream and then the chi infra gel on top. Until now the best combination.
