Another big tip I was given from my coach would be pulling down your guiding arm (non swinging arm), like pulling down a rope to ring a church bell (can't think of other examples lol). That also helps give torque for your hip rotation hence more spike power. Following through your spike (finishing the swing into your torso) will also give you more power. You could see on 6:10 the hitter uses his left arm to guide and aim, then pulls down. The thumbnail transitioning into the video in the preview was crazy, and keep it up!!

dude that is wayyy too real, you read my mind, I was gonna talk about it in another video, good job man

Big tip: Idk if most people know that, but when spiking there are lots of things you can do to get that strength. First, the basic -As you said, just throw your guiding arm down. 2nd Use your hips -To spike, we kinda transform our arms on whips, try imagining all the energy you generate from each movement being gradually transfered to your hand, which is the last point and also where all the energy will be realeased into the ball. The movement will start with your hips,when you jump, you should be a little bit sideways to the net, knowing that just "throw" the side of your hip so it gets more parallel to the net (its hard to explain, you can see professionals doing that) 3rd: The hip movement should follow until the next step, your arm -In the arm part: you should have you spiking arm completely pulled back, you will throw your arm behind your neck and throw your elbow in front of you with all your strength, your forearm (and consequently you hand) will follow the movement, and then its the part where you hit the ball. The only thing you SHOULD keep in mind, is that your movement should be as efficient as possible. That means that you should focus on not wasting or dissipating any of the energy you generated. I know its hard to understand, but, trust me, its even harder to explain. Specially not having any way to show examples.
@ninjaofthepivipi24056 ай бұрын
Forgot to say it on my last comment: If you wish to go pro, dont focus on blasting the ball into the 3rd meter line, try learning how to give it direction, read blockers, learn to see the other team defense and decide where to spike. When you learn all that, try combining it with power, and then you will be a heck of a spiker

Not to be annoying, absolutely love and appreciate the vid, just a note to avoid confusion. The E=mc^2 bit is true as in faster = more energy, but that's E=1/2*mv^2. E=mc^2 is about things at the speed of light.

E=mc^2 is more commonly used for quantum as c-=the speed of light, a better alternative for the formula is E=1/mv^2, which is for kinetic energy.

How many hours a day do you train to become a d1 athlete
@TheOnlyJosiah.6 ай бұрын
I think you should train as much as possible on a regular basis, every day or every 2 days. Personally, I played volleyball with my school club about once or twice a week in 11th grade before trying out for the team this year, so I couldn't specifically advise you on that. That being said, I think it is a very techinical sport so I think you should work on improving your skills even 30 minutes every day is way better than 2 hours 2 times a week. Also work on your athletism at least twice a week because it will make you more powerful on the court.

Velocity* speed doesnt have a direction
@hakiim63846 ай бұрын
its F = m* a F: Force m: mass a: velocity and the formular E = mc^2 describes that all bodies that have mass have a corresponding energy. it more explains how small particales can release such enormous amounts of energy like atoms can when they are undergoing fusion or fission (aka. why atomic bombs release so much energy) It is very watered down but you get the general idea. It also kinda explains the movement of energy in the spacetime realm which would go a little bit too far into physics rn, but thats why c is squared.
