As a Mets fan, it’s time to move on from him. He turned an offer down, that he should’ve taken, now he’s going to test the open market as a Boras client. Idk, love Pete, but I’m ok with the Mets breaking it down and starting over. David Stearns was dealt a bad hand, paying for veterans who aren’t even on the team. Need to flush out those contracts and move forward. Simple as that

I'm in agreement that the Mets should probably trade him. At this point, I would be willing to trade every position player except for Baty, Vientos, Alvarez.

Yep! Mets are stuck with him for the season & then he will walk for nothing . They’ll offer him a qualifying offer and he will decline so they’ll get a draft pick out of it but that’s about it if he is indeed out for a while due to being HBP

@@mebite839 agreed , but we all know somebody is going to pay him ! I just feel like he will get an underwhelming offer and be forced to sign it! If Pete was smart he would’ve paid attention to the other boras clients and how bad they did last year in FA , he’d better not overplay his hand but I feel like he already has by not taking that Mets extension

Baseball is a trade frenzy sport. The talk of trades is about 90% vs. talking about the game. Trades are something habitual losing small market constantly do with the hopes of tomorrow paying off. Once a player is good they rinse and repeat. Fans easily lose interest in those markets because they have nothing to relate to. Sometimes they get lucky for 2 seasons. Rinse and repeat. Small market teams will sign older veterans in hopes of using them as trade pieces. Changing rosters seem to have more interest than the game. Maybe this is why baseball has lost interest.

The Red Sox got royally fleeced in the Mookie Betts trade. They don't have a single player on the team or in the organization from that trade. Id love to see the cubs acquire Kenley Jansen. He'll be far cheaper than Mason Miller. The only question is does Jed Hoyer have the balls to trade for him.

Most of the time these trades are failures. Betts is a HOF player, prospects are risky.

Ken is definitely wrong about Tucker being American league mvp. If the season ended today Soto would be mvp. Look at the numbers they don't lie.Bad call for someone who should know better.

They need a power hitting infielder more than a reliver especially with Effross, Burdi, Trivino and Hamilton coming back + Cole coming back will leave you with one of the starters to the BP

As a Mets fan I believe the first thing they should do is get rid of that bum lindor that I NEVER thought Should have gotten the worse contract ever to begin with even though I will have to eat alot of it but Stevie has the money , The next thing I would do is trade Alonso only because we are out of it and then we can possibly sign him back in the off-season like what the yanks did with Chapman years ago , also I would trade Diaz if his value can go up
