5th option do not work. Flagged by Malaysian immigration officer in JB after first few trips and finally once actually refused entry and was escorted by Sg immigration officers in Woodland train check point as requested by M immigration officer. I checked with Sg MFA and response was 30 days visa for holidays and business, not for renting or living. I now try weekends in JB as I already had 1 year tenancy with 2.5 month's deposit which I did not want to loose. Be ware and be warned.

option 5 is also call visa run. There is a rule stated that option 5 stay in malaysia cannot accumulate more than 90 days per year. That's why someone got stop at malaysia custom when using visa run.

@@ngkimsiong62 Ah I see. As far as I know, there is nothing written in the law actually but I believe all these definitions are basically made up by immigration officers.

Not very familiar with APEC card. I think there is a special priority immigration queue for them but not sure if have longer stay

Lots. I think everybody does it their own way. The recent e-pass addition is great as you can avoid immigration officers

Appreciate advice - I got my MM2H 8 years ago. When i renew it in 2 years time will I continue with the terms I signed uo years ago or will I have to follow the changes made to MM2H recently? Thanks

Likely it will follow the new rules. But the current strict MM2H rules are going to relaxed. News should be out anytime now

If you go in out JB-SG every few days, the existing 30 days visa for ASEAN countries can already.

Difficult to get PR in Malaysia. You can apply long term visit pass for the husband.

Not sure what you mean? They can apply for all the visas here but tourist visa different country different treatment

@@AlphaMarketingSG what I meant is perhaps SG citizens are treated differently when it comes to long term stay in Malaysia .. I was talking about Canadainas, Australians, New Zilandaer citizens, who wish to stay long term but dont qualify for MMSH

@jiti5034 Singaporeans normally try use the tourist visa option because jb is so near and they get 30days due to ASEAN country. Westerners more likely to get a proper visa before coming to live in JB

@@AlphaMarketingSG Westerners also get 30 or 90 days visit visa on arrival that is not the question my question is is there a diff between SG citizen and western when it comes to long term residency visa in Malaysia ( JB or not JB that is not the issue)

I think the liquid assets is not just to show, but, need to put into a bank account in Malaysia. Maintain a fixed deposit account of RM1 million, where a maximum withdrawal of 50% from a principal amount is allowed for purposes such as property purchase, healthcare and education

There is 2 components. One is to show liquid assets, that can be in any/ multiple countries. The second is the FD in Malaysia, of which 50% can be withdrawn after 1 year

we had many mixed feedback on this. Im quite sure thousands do it without problem but there also those who report that immigration question them and advise them to spend more time in Singapore before making a trip to Malaysia. On paper its a gray area now.
