Really enjoyed this style of tutorial video. Not too fast, not too slow. Music was good and the camera angles gave an excellent view of the techniques. Love the final product too! I also enjoy your voice over style videos. Much love x

I love how huge and pleasantly organic this mug is! This would absolutely become my daily mug. The tutorial was very clear and well paced. I tend to watch videos silently with closed captions on, so however you prefer doing it works for me. I did appreciate that the words were accurate, unlike KZfaq’s auto captions, which are sometimes a hot mess.

I like when there is a music for repetitive things, like hitting the cylinder with a wooden spoon, but when it is something important, where you need to pay attention to details, such as attaching the bottom to the wall, there is no music, it makes me more focused during this moment :)

The format helps the viewer and the creator concentrate on the process and makes conveying information concise. As a fan of cooking some of the best food I’ve ever made was based of the most simply put instruction. I find it really difficult to convey the information I want to all the time without having it be all cluttered up, but you did a really good job here. There are times where you want to engage directly with people and be verbal and there are times where showing works better than telling. I think good teachers know how to give as much space as possible to their students minds. In fact, some of the best art teachers can teach without even needing to speak the same language. It’s why if you’re quite brave and strong you can move across the world and learn the trade from a master with minimal language skills. All that said this looks quite difficult. It seems like a fragile process. Definitely got me interested and thinking.

On format, I love the pacing, but I do prefer voice because I tend to “watch” a video the first time while doing dishes or such and glance over at the pottery occasionally, then the second time if I’ve decided to try it, I am watching while also trying to do my own pottery. Most of the time I just skip videos that are subtitles only.

I prefer voiceover to reading the screen because I like to “watch” this stuff while I’m drawing & I can just glance up when the voiceover is telling me to look at something specific. I think the pacing is good. It’s slow enough to make sense without being painfully slow. Edit: you should use that clay mix to make an oval box where the outside & lid are painted like a dragon fruit & when you open the box, the inside looks like the seeds!
