It is MIND-BLOWING to me how many of us think that we need to add more things into our lives like reading , meditation, waking up early, exercising or cold plunges to finally reach success but never realizing it is actually the things that we need to STOP doing that prevents us from reaching success ... Food for thought ...

Please explain how so? 🤔 so you’re saying little changes of habits isn’t taking a step towards success?
@Cognitive_Wisdom
@Cognitive_Wisdom 3 ай бұрын
I think it's important to start by stopping certain bad habits that we do in our lives, slowly replacing them by building good habits and changing the way we live step by step.
@blakebunch4485
@blakebunch4485 3 ай бұрын
When you stop doing something that's taking you downhill ideally you'll replace it with something that puts you in a position to climb. You have to do something with that time and just coasting along will more often than not get you right back where you started. But yeah you're right but just cutting bad habits out without replacing them with action towards a valued goal isn't optimal.

That is the same mindset that Tom Brady and Patriots had when they dominated, it’s about eliminating, or keeping mistakes to a minimum. Eliminate the bad habits for the good ones to shine

@@daniellegathings7651 What I am saying is that the reason why you have not reached success yet is not because you have failed to implement good habits into your life that will eventually lead to success , but because you have not quit the harmful habits that are hindering your success ..

One of the best things I ever realized was that I can think about anything I want to think about - if I'm lying in bed, not sleeping, I can chose the most fun and interesting things to think about, not negative things. :)

Summary 1. Find Your Passion Zone: Identify the sweet spot where skills and passion converge. This fuels your drive and guides you towards excellence. 2. Embrace the Discomfort: Develop resilience by tolerating what others avoid. This builds confidence and paves the path to success. 3. Focus and Conquer: Channel your energy strategically on controllable aspects. This directs your efforts and increases your chances of winning. 4. Master Your Emotions: Become emotionally intelligent. It fosters healthy relationships and fuels your drive. 5. Set Boundaries, Filter Inputs: Safeguard your focus by setting boundaries and filtering information intake. my version of biting off more than I can chew. Sign a contract for a 90k complete research ghostwriting manuscript while simultaneously working full time and part time jobs, in school, and a single mom. a year later - quit main job to pursue writing full time as a ghost writer and spend so much more time with my kid. And completely different from who I was. LOVE THIS!

Never be impressed by someone who climbs Mt Everest with little mountain training. People should now realize most climbing tourists use the backs of local sherpas to get to the top.. Vanity project climbers’ can quickly put an entire group at risk with their inexperience and poor reactions. These types have created plenty of catastrophes. There’s a lot of ‘vanity projects’ out in the world and climbing ‘Mt Everest’ is the most pathological because there’s literally a mountain of dead bodies to prove the point. But guys, we appreciate this video and convo. ❤❤Just had to call out the mountain of sh**t that climbing Mt Everest has become. Let’s agree to be more impressed with someone who has improved themselves like given up junk food, alcohol, and toxic friends. In reality - these are real mountain climbs.❤❤

The problem with going to big tech platforms to look for success is the algorithms. You watch one video about cold showers being life changing, you then keep getting recommendations about cold showers being life changing. The reality is that KZfaq is just pushing videos they "think" you will like. So you start taking cold showers expecting it will change your life, but in reality, its just a cold shower and you are not going to magically start solving all of your issues or get a raise or new job because you take cold showers. But the people making the videos about the cold showers, they will rack up the views and generate decent revenue from that. FYI - I take cold showers sometimes, noting against them, I just needed an example to write this comment as I'm killing time at work as I await AI to replace me

Completely agree with the need for generalists. I work with a business full of specialists and I’ve been brought in as a generalist. I find that specialists often can be too focused on their area so much so that they make decisions based on their own specialisation without considering how it impacts other areas of the business. While I’m obviously biased, I think you definitely need a generalist to tie it altogether and make sure the different pieces can work together instead of individually and exclusively. Just my thoughts. Great ep guys!

Okay, you're talking about mental and emotional fatigue - and having worn my orange tinted glasses for a good 45+ minutes I'm ready to go to sleep for the night. I might watch the rest later. Drew, good design and construction "Jack of all trades, Master of None, oft time preferable to a Master of One" Mark, generalist geniuses are seriously under utilised phenomena Drew, I too did not finish my PhD. And I love tying things together in an intellectual way. Ocassionally in a literal way - I'm a first responder and knots are useful during storm damage operations.

I moved to the US from Eastern Europe, people ask me why I came here. I will use Mark’s story to answer. When I was a kid, little chubby not good in sports, the most stressful class I had to take was a PE. When we did run I was always the last one but i always finished the race. But the difference between our education and the US, i failed, I received F in a PE class. My parents were called to school to answer questions what was wrong with me. It was a horrible system and I hope that change now.

Listening the next day; I hoped that you would have had a post script to your cross country story. I joined a rugby club after university and at the first practice the captain started practice with a 3 mile run. I had never run more than a half mile before that. Adding insult to injury the only shoes I had were molded rubber spikes. That run took me 34 minutes. Fast forward to the end of the season I was running the 3 miles in 18 minutes (with running shoes). I was hoping you would have commented on what your cross country meet times were at the end of the season.

The more disciplines you master, the easier it is to pick up an additional discipline. Knowledge is not heavy, instead it helps carry additional knowledge. The more you know, the more you encounter repeating patterns.Your intuition is strengthened. As you conquer more knowledge, you also discover that the unknown is so much bigger than you thought. Stay curious! Keep learning!

Mark, before my orange tinted glasses and I go to sleep, I would like to write a question to you. Why, in your life experiences thus far, would I find your orange book 'The subtle art of not giving a fuck' reassuring, uplifting, and motivational while the guy I was in a situationship with lost a few nights of sleep after reading the same book? And when I say the same book, I had to get another copy because I never got it back from him. I don't understand why it helped me to sleep peacefully and it caused him to lose sleep. Any ideas, speculations, consultations with the ethereal spirirts that operate your meat suit that could try to shed some light on this?
