I keep coming back to a line that I THINK was a muppets or Sesame St. parody Chappelle's Show did. The line I keep think of is the "Oscar" character saying "I beat my d-- like it owes me money."

I’m trying to cut down on social media/consumption and double down more on being a “creator” whether it’s at work, in my personal projects, or just building my skills. Often I feel stagnant or hit plateaus and I keep your channel in my “consumption” rotation because I so often follow your advice and it completely changes my life for the better! Thank you for what you guys do.

It's the new populist faction of US politics who always needs a problem to wine about. Always an "us vs them" mentality, and they always play the victim.

Generalizing the immature aspects of some people as placed on all. Some things that individuals focus on are important to be in the relationship. That’s not illogical. It’s what they are looking for. Of course that is what is wrong with you according to the hosts.

It is a rarely touched on thing. It is also the sinister side of the 12 step system. They replace alcohol with religion, which in the end cannot provide any more answers than alcohol can. It is just under the guise that being religious is good and being an addict is bad. But the nefarious bait and switch of the 12 step program to trick an addict is why it has such a high failure rate.

I don't agree that pain is a great teacher. It depends on the value the person experiencing the pain places on the pain. It's like saying that someone speaking Japanese has just given you the most profound message ever. This is quite pointless if you don't speak Japanese!!! If you don't understand or make a salient meaning out of the pain, then the pain is just pointless suffering sucking the living daylights out of you. Sadly as I have discovered, layered emotions and feeling undealt with, create pain and unfortunately unravelling that is not as easy as understanding the pain! And yes so many people find meaning in life from doing things for others, however again life is not that black and white. To a people pleaser this message will just create more dysfunction and misery in their life. I truly wish this business called life came with a manual, it would make it alot easier to navigate and not feel like life is just an endless maze more often than not hitting dead ends!😊

Did any one mention enjoying your life? I did every thing backwards, I enjoyed my life first than I started my career at 50. I heard this quote when I was very young: The first half of life consist of having the capacity to enjoy but without the chance; The second part of life consist of having the chance but without the capacity to enjoy.

The discipline comes in when you are slowly nudging your way one small step at a time from your old ways to your new habitual healthy ways. If you’re a couch potato who hasn’t exercised regularly for years, you can’t dream up some crazy plan to do P90X every day and have a Summer body in 6 months. You simply start walking, slowly gain momentum, and momentum is magical if you do the most important thing which is consistency. Chip away. Daily. HIIT can be a turbo boost but not the primary vehicle. The primary vehicle is slow progress. I’m fit. I have been addicted to exercising my entire life so I have never once considered it discipline because it’s harder for me not to do it 😅. Same with reading books. I do however need discipline to begin learning a second language or an instrument. I’m not sure if I could ever become addicted to learning a second language but probably most definitely it can become more of a habit the more consistently I do it.

12:29 there are dating apps that do this. E harmony does this explicitly. There's others with very extended bio's where you can answer hundreds of questions and match based upon how others answer those questions.

My husband and I have been happily married for 11+ years, and we were both on the same dating app at the same time, but it didn’t set us up, which I have always found very ironic, LOL. I don’t know if they actually work, because I never went on a date via the dating app I used, so in my opinion they do not work.

agreed - dating apps definitely channel people... only thing is, it's the 80-90% of women, looking for that 5-10% of men on there... so 80-90% of men aren't getting any kind of hits or dates... so essentially most if not all women are having sex, but with only 10% of the men ... so you wonder why a large percentage of men eventually give up on these apps??? and then the women say they keep meeting the same type of guy over and over, lol now are they reallly really surprised given their preferences?

Bullshit. Go tell to a suicidal kid or a girl who cuts herself to "just be resilient". Dropping these statements in the middle of a mental health crisis is beyond irresponsible. And for the record, the old people I know find this generation to be more traumatized than theirs. What disgusts me is that you know that is the case, in real life you treat people with compassion and try to inspire them to find a purpose in life and then take small steps to improve, which is actually touching. Then you just drop a provocative video downplaying people's pain. For what: views and likes? Give the ACE study a read and stop and gaslighting your audience into believing their trauma doesn't matter - it does. Resilience and healing come not from denial, but from dedication, connection, meaning and inspiration, sharing with others in a spirit of compassion. You know this - why act like you don't?
