As I watch videos from any time at all, i am seeing these so beautiful cards. I love the backgrounds you made and think you used them to their best. I do also appreciate that you showed 5 ways to use the inks and the balloon on black is very exciting. I love it and will try it myself. Thank you, Justine. My favourite cards were those made with the red rubber stamp. I want that stamp for certain. It is absolutely the best background stamp I've ever seen. ❤️🇨🇦❤️

This was SUPER helpful! I bought into the hype and bought a bunch of these but I realized I really had no clue what to do with them! I have their distress ink counterparts so I was worried I bought more of the same. You gave me some great ideas on how I can play around more with these. THANK YOU!

Oh Justine......WOW All of your cards are Gorgeous!! It was so interesting and fun to watch you blend away and seeing your backgrounds come to life was quite breathtaking....and magical!! So helpful! My fav yo use is the stencils and rubbing blender tool in a clockwise motion really fast over whichever stencil I am using. They are really fun. And I find that when u use yellow distress over a flower it comes out beautifully. Thanks for the new tips!

You got a lot of card fronts from just using Destress Oxide Inks.. I don't really know all there is to do with these amazing Destress Oxide Inks, but I'm really excited to find out more about all of them. I have a few similar videos on my channel. The colours will vary based on your style - if you like vintage you’ll love the greens and browns, if you love bright and cheerful, the rainbow colours work best, etc. so I can’t really recommend a set list of what you should have because everyone’s preferences will be different.

Justin, On the video, the colours look striking and bright. In your opinion, do they seem more vibrant than the regular Distress inks? I love my Distress inks even though I have difficulty blending a smooth background. The colours are beautiful.

It depends. Usually I use Neenah solar white cardstock for blending. If I plan to add a lot of water, I use watercolour cardstock.

This video was so helpful...TFS. I would love to buy some of these inks but only got into mixed media a few months ago and bought a heap of the normal distress inks...doh! Have you tried using the normal distress with the oxides or wouldn't it work? I'm just reluctant to keep buying more products when I haven't used what I have......maybe Santa will be kind to me this year...lol. Thanks again. Love your work.

You can use both together if you want to do that. I sold off all my old distress ink and scooped up the minis to make some more space. I have the oxides now as well in full size since apparently there isn't a plan to make them in minis

I love the blending technique but my question is how many blending tools do you have? Do you have one for every color do you have to have a different phone for every color? How do you clean them between the colors?

I had one when I first started and bought a big sponge refill pack so I had a sponge for each colour. I eventually invested in 5 tools since I never really add more than 5 colours on a background. Lately I did get one for each colour but I regret it now since I purged so many of my colours.

What’s the ideal weight cardstock for distress oxides. I used them on 65lb and they ruined it.

It's not always the weight but the quality of the cardstock itself. I use 80lb and 110lb Neenah Solar White Classic Crest and have no issues.

Do the Oxide inks feel chalky on paper after they dry? Does the ink pad have an odour to it? Thank you.

They don't really feel chalky but they give off a very smooth finish. The ink pads don't have a noticeable odour that I can tell.

Great video! Why do you prefer the Hero Art heat tool instead of the Ranger for embossing? Thank you

The Ranger tool is for drying, it take a long time for it to melt the embossing powder and causes the paper to warp. Even Tim Holtz says it's mainly for drying projects and Mixed Media work. The nice thing is that it is very quiet. The Hero Arts Embossing tool has a concentrated heat that melts the embossing powder in seconds which means less time for the paper to warp. I have tried two other brands of heat tools and nothing compares to the Hero Arts ones. But it is quite loud.

Best thing to do is give it a try. If the wood stays indoors, I wouldn't see why not. It isn't permanent if it touches water.

They unfortunately won't be coming out with smaller cubes because you would need to constantly refill them
