Course management and club selection is so key. I’ve been a lot closer and more consistent with my gap wedge over my 60. Thanks Matt.. NJ in the house

especially the shoulders opener is the key. Hit the ball on the shaft, with too closed club face, etc... I had so many sockets in chipping, pitching etc. Focusing on opening the shoulders and turning a lil bit the hips, going with the ball, helped me a lot. Just changing this I dropped my handicap from 42 to 30. Short game is the key! Thank you for your videos! Amazing tips!

Great video Matt. Been following you for several years now. I always love your spirit for golf and playful remarks in an already stressful game. Your chipping tips are by far my favorite, as that’s what impacted my game the most from what you’ve shared. Also hitting out of the sand - I’ve never struggled with that part of my game ever since you shared the analogy of the shanks in prison. I get out alive every time 😂

I'm a 3-4 handicap but was a mess chipping for years and people would always say to put your hands forward, so I did and I had many runs in with the enemy, until for some reason I finally figured out to open the face if you put your hands forward. Game changer...and great tip.

It a shame I cant hit like more times!! Watched it three times already. I love the open the face to use the bounce as I'm deliberately making the effort to keep hands forward as in a recent Phil Mick chipping video.. First, I love your videos. Great tips and real world stuff. One comment I heard from someone recently was, “I can’t get fitted because I don’t swing like anyone else”. So, started me thinking. When SHOULD you get fitted vs. getting some fundamental lessons BEFORE getting fitted? I think it is more subjective than a simple…. Yea, do that… what do you think?

Nice Lionel Richie quote. Also you forgot to mention when you open the club face so the leading edge is nuetralized to aim more left, right for a lefty like me, to compensate for the natural face openess. Critical to make sure the shot still goes straight

I generally flop most short shot. I am good at it. I have start to try and chip more shots for more control of distances. Flops just don’t roll out, so the bad shot is way short or 100’ yards past the green. This video has made a lot of sense

Why?? You get it on the ground as much as possible The Flop is a shot that you should rarely play Practice it for sure as it will give you confidence but you don't really need it as much as you think

@jackkinoff6943
@jackkinoff6943 2 жыл бұрын
@@jimlong3223 Why?? Go somewhere you can pitch some balls and get your laser out. Pick out something 40 yards and go put a target down Then go back and start trying to swing your club back and forward at different lengths hitting balls at your 40yard target. Soon enough you will realise if I take my "insert club" back this far at this speed and then my club goes forward so far I will hit it 40 yards Once you got this down you got a 40 yard shot in your repertoire Then repeat the process for a 30 yard shot Then repeat for a 20 yard shot Once you got these distances in your repertoire you get to a pitch pull your laser out get the distance and find you are knocking them pin high all the time as you know how to hit shots a certain distance
@jimlong3223

@@jackkinoff6943 yeah I don’t practice much we just play for money every Sunday. I am in a good team though for scrambles. As per the showing off, nothing makes opponents weak seeing me knock a flip shop 30 yards to witching 5-10’. It’s a flex hahhaa
@jackkinoff6943
@jackkinoff6943 2 жыл бұрын
@@jimlong3223 The practice to learn these shots doesn't take much 1 hour of hitting some balls will find you have mastered this 40 yard shot. Once you got it in the repertoire it is only a little bit of practice from time to time to straighten it out if you not getting the results you want
