My dad was at the match of the Bradford City fire, 11th May 1985, Lincoln City vs Bradford City. He was sat in the main stand, the stand that caught fire. Luckily he was sat in the front row, so as the fire started, he was one of the first to flee onto the pitch. You can actually see him waving at the camera on the Live TV Broadcast as all the fans fled onto the pitch. God knows what would've happened to him if he was sat further up or in the stand. RIP to all those not so lucky on that day.

SuperChris153 Those that died were mostly under the stand in the concourse as it was close to half time (drink, pie, toilet etc) On the broadcast footage it looked like everyone got out alive apart from a man who walked through the flames who later died It wasnt till some time that night we found out what had happened If you watch the full footage even the commentator thinks most people got out and those that were in the seats did but those under were trapped

It took 3 minutes from smoke to completely engulfed. I saw the footage and was in disbelief at how rapid it was once the fire took hold. My heart went out to all that day... still does.

What’s oneupmanship got to do with anything? Nice word by the way. I have a lot of historical respect for Liverpool, but it upsets me that there was a period where there were banners around Anfield decrying Heysel, blaming the Italian fans, and stating that the European Cup should have been theirs. Now THAT’S repugnancy. In terms of being a City fan, well, it’s as relevant as your bitter and twisted opinion of me. Calling me all the names under the sun is as amusing as it is sad.

Ibrox Stadium Glasgow January 2 1971. 50th anniversary year this year. 66 people crushed to death on stairway 13 after Celtic scored in the last minutes of the game and Rangers equalised in injury time. Always remembered in Scotland. But somehow overlooked by you sir.

Terrible disasters. But to all the Man United fans laughing and chanting about Hillsborough, and to those who do nothing about it. After the Munich disaster it was Liverpool who offered United players so that they could finish the season. We all love a good rivalry, but songs about death aren't funny. P.S. I know a tiny proportion of Liverpool fans occasionally mention Munich, but as a fan base we're doing our best to eradicate this vile behaviour.

Where's the Ibrox Disaster that sadly killed 66 Rangers fans? It should've been there with the Olympiakos Disaster with some of their fans who sadly died. @Anat Girtfhukel Every single inquiry into Hillsborough, be it judicial, journalistic or academic, disagrees with you. Ticketless fans have never been found to be a factor in the disaster. In fact the very first inquiry, the Taylor Report, commended the fans for their actions during and after incident. Though Sheffield Wednesday FC, Sheffield Council, the British Football Association plus the ambulance and fire services have to varying extents been allotted part of the blame for the deaths every investigation has placed the ultimate responsibility on South Yorkshire Police. If they had done their job correctly the bottleneck outside the ground would not have happened, the gate would not have been opened and the crush inside the pen would not occurred. As a LFC fan you should already know all this.

I was born 3 years after the tragedy in the Estadio Nacional. Even as a child, I recall the pictures of the dead, the stories of who was to blame for the tragedy and interviews with the fan "El Negro Bomba" that invaded the pitch and got the riot started. The beautiful game will forever be haunted by the losses experienced throughout the world in such tragic events. Thank you for sharing the video...

We were travelling from a match on the day the Bradford fire happened . The radio was tuned into football matches . The commentator had no idea how serious the fire was and was laughing about it . I can't imagine how bad he must have felt when he found out later .

The 96 is a tragic and horrible event which Liverpool fans and every English fan should care. No matter If you support Everton or Man Utd you should care. My uncles friend died in the hilsborough accident and so did my brothers friends uncle. It should always be remembered as a mistake of the police force but not the fans. We will always remember you, the 96. I love your hope and dreams that us Liverpool fans have, finally getting justice. We all just wish that it was a bad dream sometimes and hope they will come back from their tragic deaths. Again we will always remember the 96.

Just one more. In the mid 1900's Torino was one of the biggest clubs in Italy and in Europe. However, on a plane back home, it crashed and the whole team, reserves, manager and staff were killed. They had to play their youth team for the rest of the season.

Port Said massacre (1 February 2012) El Masry vs El Ahly On 1 February 2012, a massive riot occurred at Port Said Stadium in Port Said, Egypt, following an Egyptian Premier League football match between El Masry and El Ahly. 74 people were killed and more than 500 were injured after thousands of El Masry spectators stormed the stadium stands and the pitch, following a 3-1 victory by El Masry, and violently attacked El Ahly fans using knives, swords, clubs, stones, bottles, and fireworks as weapons.

I live near Hillsborough and have been to the stadium many times, in fact 2 of my mums cousins were in the stadium at the time,thankfully both of them were on the other side of the stadium but it still hurts whenever I go to the stadium which is only a few miles away from my home and to see all those names and flowers laid around the entrance to all those 96 unfortunate people and there family’s . Rest in peace

That's why they where shoving in and pushing. They don't care about anyone. Not even there fellow fans and also Look at what they done to the Italians back at heysel stadium back in 1985, they brutal killed 39 juventus fans in the stadium but Liverpool fans never ever say justice for 39' do they? The football tragedy now exists in Indonesia. Around 130 people were dead in Malang and the football was suspended. Death toll is expected to be increased due to the large number of injuries caused by stampede or the prolong effects of tear gas. It is likely that the football disaster in Malang is the worst act of violence incident in Indonesia since the full scale riots in 1998 and the Bali bombings in 2002.
