Hi Lisa if you have the type of kiln I am thinking of (I started off with the same type but I only used it for silver clay) it is difficult to advise. You can only really open the kiln and see how the glass is doing. If you do not want the expense of a bigger kiln then maybe you could try a microwave kiln. I have some videos about those too. Hope this helps. :)

Hi Lyn. Yes you could fuse in the mwk but with care because they are thick pieces and might shock and break. I normally use the kiln for thin pieces, or frit, or small pieces so I can go straight to full 100% power. When fusing thick pieces like this it is better to start off at say 20% power for 4 mins, then 30% power for maybe 4 mins, then 40% or 50% then up to 100%. Its trial and error. If I am fusing in my mwk using thin or small pieces I go 8.45 to 9 mins for a tack fuse and 11 mins for a full fuse. These are when the kiln and mwk are cold. I have a lot of videos where you can see me using the mwk and I am just preparing some more which will be uploaded soon. Hope this helps. :)
