Big Thanks to Weaver Leather for supporting my work and sponsoring this project!! check them out here: www.weaverleathersupply.com/
i wanted a rimowa carry-on for a long time but they are simply too expensive. so i went online and bought an old Tropicana Case made for Cameras. The Tropicana line has been discontinued years ago but they are easy to find used. best thing about them is that they are waterproof!
so i spent a week in the shop turning this 50 Euro Camera case into a super sweet looking carry-on suitcase.
let me know what you think in the comments.
If you like what i do you can support me at:

I bought a Louis Vuitton keepall a couple of years ago, I always wanted one and I was in a position where I could afford one. I must have been away a couple dozen times since getting and every time I’m too scared to use it! So very much, that bag owns me!

Absolutely brilliant, and worth more in my eyes than a mass produced (even if it is more expensive) off-the-shelf item. It's like when people buy a stock factory motor home that's all bland and plastic, yet costs over five times more than a lovingly self- built vehicle using natural materials that fits its owners needs 100%, and looks nicer too.

You are exactly right about making a thing your own. If a nice recently manufactured hand tool comes your way, say a Lie-Nielsen plane, whether new or a lightly battered estate sale find, and you disassemble, clean and adjust it, sharpen it perfectly, lightly break too crisp edges, strip the lacquer from the wood, work in a couple drops of tung oil, and expose it to your shop's ambient conditions, you'll find that in five year's time it will be much more your own than another example wiped clean between uses and stored in its plastic bag inside its original box.
