Good morning David. Born in Brooklyn but grew up in Georgetown, Guyana and Hopetown village til age 5 and every summer til 8. Never went to my neighbor Suriname so this Vlog really interests me. The juice looked thick. Didn’t know there was an Indonesian influence. The peanut sauce looks amazing. The fried chicken looks so tender. David, my comment will be neverending 😂. Suriname is so peaceful...so much natural surroundings....the villages ... various religious places nearby schools rivers the pretty boats...and the foods the wild boar soup..cassava breads...crabs looked super delicious...mangoes lots of nice fruits...And the leather back turtles...didn't know thgey had them there....Another very informed video of this awesome place. Good morning again David. Hope you are enjoying your Sunday. First of all, I am happy to see Suriname and thank you for the shortened documentary of the series, because I know that there was much more. This was very refreshing and relaxing. That drive over the river reminded me of traveling over Lake Maracaibo from Maracay to Maracaibo in Venezuela when I was in my very early twenties. It was scary to me but breathtaking. You should do a visit to Venezuela, but I know, politically, it's a bit scary right now. Home-cooked food is always the best because you know it's cooked with love. I believe that you ate pigeon peas (they probably call it by a different name), and you had two types of green beans: the regular one and the french green bean which is thinner. You also had the blood pudding like they have in Trinidad which is stuffed with a mixture of the blood, bread and a lot of seasonings. I think you had it when you went to Trinidad. I laughed when you called the intestine "wrapper". LoL. Anyway, as I am writing this comment, I see you posted another documentary, so I have another flight to catch. So I will see you in Seoul, South Korea.🙏💕🇹🇹🇨🇦

Taste of fruits, vegetables and the food are very exceptional because it is ALL so pure. Most fruits and also flowers have a pure, very nice natural scent. For the first time I have made a reservation and visit an AMAZING restaurant named Spice Quest in Paramaribo. Name of the street is Dr. J.F. Nassylaan. The served dishes are mindblowing delicious!!!

Hi David. Just finished watching the doc. Once again, thank you so much. Not much more to say, except that it reminded me of the tastes of all of the various foods I used to eat in Trinidad while growing up there. Although my mother was East Indian (now deceased), she could cook anything under the sun, and my dad (now deceased), half Chinese mixed, would cook Chinese food too. So I had the best of both worlds. My two favorite foods: Indian and Chinese. I think the documentary speaks for itself when it comes to Trini foods. Always imitated, never duplicated. All natural and fresh. Job well done again. Good morning David. Now watching Suriname. Just so you know: there is a guy named Jon Barr of 'Here be Barr,' who just posted a 100 hours' documentary in New York, similar to what you did, focussing on Little Guyana too. I think I will check it out to see if it's a copy of your video. Just curious. I think it's about 3 hours long.

@@ShabanandHailey some people still don't understand what a documentary is all about. I watched the Suriname series before so it would be interesting to see how David put it together. Truth be told, I wasn't impressed with the Mexico doc. Just wrote my comment. I hope you enjoyed it and the Suriname one. Peace.
