Don’t for one minute be sad about children selling their parents crystal and glass collections. I love them and buy them any time I see them. My mother only had a few pieces of Fenton milk glass. I have a large collection of crystal bowls and covered candy dishes. I cherish every piece I buy and often think of the fine ladies who first owned the pieces. I’m taking good care of them for them in their honor. ❤

By the way, the orange servers are an interesting item. I’ve never seen one before. I enjoy learning about new old things.

Granny Pat, you are delightful and generous for sharing your experience and collections. I have recently started collecting Fostoria American and love learning about it. Many of my pieces have come from estates and I try to get a little background about them, because like you, I honor the mothers and grandmothers who wanted to set a beautiful table for their loved ones.

I agree with you that the younger generation doesn't want our glass and crystal collections. Some of mine came from Ireland when I visited the Waterford factory. It makes me sad, too. You have a beautiful collection. Love that fostoria footed cake plate.

Oh, Granny Pat, I could spend hours and hours admiring and handling your dishes, especially the Fostoria American! My mother, born in 1909, grew up very poor in the Dust Bowl of Oklahoma. I have no idea how she ever achieved a lovely collection of Fostoria! She even had a punch bowl! I am so thankful for every piece. I don’t have daughters, and my granddaughters have no interest in “dust collectors.” Someone, one day, may love my treasures.

Its sad most people don't care for anything anymore. Just buy something and throw it away..

No Granny Pat we won’t get tired of you! There are PLENTY of us out here who LOVE crystal, china, and beautiful things like this and STILL save and purchase rarely when we have enough 😊

I thoroughly enjoyed your chat about American by Fostoria! My mother selected it when she got married to my father. She told me the first piece that she received was the square cake plate. I now have it along with all of the other pieces that she owned in my china cabinet. I did learn a few interesting tidbits from you! I laughed out loud when you said “are you tired yet”! I hope you find your square cake plate soon! Mine will be passed down to my daughter one day. Thank you for an interesting chat!

I was almost reduced to tears.... thank you for so lovingly spending the time to share your collection and how you came to be their wonderful custodian. I never got the chance to sit and listen to either of my grandmother's as a child. One lived over seas and the other lived inside herself for 17 years with alheimers .

I so enjoyed your video on Fostoria American. I recently inherited a huge collection from my mom. All of it was my grandma's. When I last did research, it was worth quite alot. Of course you have to have someone willing to pay that! But I treasure it all and will pass it down to my girls. I am one who still loves all the vintage China and glassware our grandma's, aunts and mothers had.

This video came across my feed and I watched every second. I just enjoyed this so much. In this horrible world this video gave me so much peace and comfort. I don’t have my mom or grandma anymore. I wish I could find someone like you to visit with 💙

I loved watching this, I learned a lot. Being someone whose mom had so many of these dishes, I didn't realize all the uses and ways to display. Thank you and you are amazing!

I enjoyed so many meals with my Aunt Frances . She served a delightful meal using her Fostoria American pieces. She had 198 pieces of this beautiful glass.

I only have one piece of Fostoria American and it's a covered candy dish that I keep chocolate covered almonds in. Not only did this video inspire me to look for more pieces, but it also inspired me to get up and get some chocolate almonds!
