Seriously, I have been watching these videos about narcissism non-stop for 4 days now, like crazy, one after another. I feel like I'm halfway to earning a PhD in Anti-Narcissist Studies. Dr. Mona, please pray for me to be able to save my 4-year-old son and gain custody over him!

I am 63 and married to a covert narcissist. It took me a long time to realize it. They just get worse. Lies..secrets..manipulates and controlling. I can't leave because we share assets. Yes he is 67 and cannot change. 😢

1 hour and 9 minutes in and you’ve just described my situation. I tried to help my Narcissistic spouse because of his messy life. The marriage fell apart because of his emotional affair with his childhood sweetheart, who I believe to be a worse Narc than him. She has helped him destroy his family and he thinks he can save her. She’s already had 4 marriages and claims to be half Muslim and half Christian…Subhan’Allah Love is blind, Alhamdulillah for Allah’s plans and protection.

Allah knows what we do not. Allah gives those who inflict harm on others their punishment. Allah rewards the believers who have suffered abuse. Trust and be patience and Allah will guide you through. Dr Mona thank you for your healing insight ❤

Every single word fit like a glove. I am a sandwich between a very strong codependent and narcissist. Every single second feels like I can't breath anymore because it has been 30 years.Tried everything from every angle possible with both of them for years, over and over again. Things are getting worse. I don't know how am I ever going to get out of this. I pray day and night that Allah removes me from this environment.

This is exactly what happened to me… I started to doubt myself as I was the problem… he was the one Allah was giving everything and I was the one suffering trying to rebuild myself… and after a while I’ve started to doubt Allah’s justice and I’ve started to not pray anymore 😔 he is showing himself as a great Muslim, praying, going to omra but he played with my heart was injust and dishonest with me. I’m so afraid of pious man now… may allah help me as I’m completely heartbroken lost and confused

And what about their supporters, the family members who knowingly support in their abuse, and never think about victim

Sister, both my sister is a narcissist and is trying to destroy me. Her actions to this day has lead to great damage, one of the biggest being harming our family cat. The cat has suffered immensely due to her narcissism and her sisters neglect. I had to look after a sick kitten they brought to our house. I paid for the pet insurance for the sick kitten. They (ly sisters) didn't pay for our family cat's pet insurance, despite the fact they both work. I don't work currently. My sisters have their pack - they are true demons. Today one of them took our dying cat to the wrong vet, I don't know if it was deliberate.

I don't know how to thank you, i cannot say it in words how much I appreciate you taking your time to help us peasants expect to say may Allah grant you the highest jannah. I really mean that from the bottom of my heart. This was my favorite podcast of yours!

Here what you are explaining is the happenings between spouse relationships,but in my country I see EVERYWHERE!!! Even if we step out to buy potatoes the vendor will start gaslighting,JazakAllah for making me aware because i used to think I am hopelessly crazy.

I bought your book last year but unfortunately went back to my kids father after taking khula and once again the cycle repeats over and over again because of my own self esteem issues and lack of tawakul and fear. He claims the khula is not valid because it was from a imam here and not given from him. Now im not sure how to ever get divorced from him . I just want him punished so badly. He took advantage of my stupidity and naivity and i let him. Now my kids and I keep suffering from emotional roller coasters

I love the work you are doing with this podcast, can't wait to listen to the other episodes. What you said about suicide is SO eye opening for me. My parents and one of my siblings are narcissists and my dad is very far gone as a malignant/sociopathic one. I can tell they are suicidal when they don't get their way, but obviously I can't just make myself their victim. They either threaten suicide as a scare tactic or they genuinely struggle with it.... both really really hard to deal with as a family member. I have been scared that maybe I will be accountable if I don't do enough to save them. But your idea that they would rather kill themselves than face the truth or be accountable makes so much sense. They are trying to cheat Allah with that and it has nothing to do with me. I also loved what you said about narcissists not listening to preachers. It frustrates me so much that more isn't said about abuse. But you are right that whatever advice is given against oppression tends to be ignored by them. I still wish it was made more clear though because after scholars like Mufti Menk became popular, I noticed that my mother's narcissitic behavior decreased a tiny bit. Some scholars make it seem like parents can't oppress at all, which emboldens them. And about forgiveness... personally, I found some peace of mind in forgiving them only in my duas. Like erasing my accounts with the them. Simply because I want the reward of forgivness more than I would like to see them suffer. But they have never asked me for forgivness so I don't say this out loud and I never let go of my boundaries. Even if I forgive them from my end, do they think they did anything wrong? Will they seek repentance? Will all the other people who they have wronged forgive them? They seem to get what they earn whether we forgive or not. If they ever genuinely chamge their heart and feel bad, then Allah would know that I wouldn't regret forgiving from my end.

Empath educated, good looking, working, high earner, well mannered empath children, her good relationship with his family.. . Gone with woman 20 years younger, manipulative with nasty character and traits. 5 years or more of subtle manipulation betrayal and having arrogance of calling her 2nd wife. I understand their disorder and insane in and out how can I put him to jail in human realm for I will never tolerate not even a bit but. How to put him in jail

Asalamu alaikum. I'm not sure if this person was a narc or not. There was no abuse at least overtly. Just moving goalposts. Everyone loves him until he exposed himself. Once he did, he left that particular community. But question: Is it possible that since the male narc won't give a wife her rights, he will use the loophole of divorce to trick themselves into thinking they can trick Allah? Like, "oh, its incumbent upon me to divorce you because i will resent you and as such I believe Allah is guiding me to divorce you." So, it's technically not a sin. They technically divorce you in "goodness". They can feel that they did no wrongdoing. I asked an imam whether there were reasons a man could divorce for no apparent reason. He said no. He cited four reasons clearly defined reasons. The above was not one of them.

But why do Muslim psychologists like yourself only or mainly discuss narcissistic spouse? I mean having psychopathic parents is much worse, especially for children
