I had one for awhile. Just felt lacking. I tried with an assortment of speakers and boosts but never got to where I wanted it. Sold it and bought a vintage Marshall and haven’t looked back. Without mods, I just never felt it could do modern metal. For classic rock type, it’s great.

I also have the Lace Dissonant Aggressor pick ups in few of my guitars, Gibson LP Standard and ESP custom BK600. Sick playing and nice walk through on this amp.

Soldano and V30’s are like beer and ice cream - no bueno. To get rid of that honk it’s really helpful to use different speakers such as a Greenbacks, Creambacks, G12 65’s. Great video though. Cheers.

It's a 50w version of the HotRod 100, not the SLO. They are 2 completely different circuits

Unless you play nu-metal, you don't need that much bass on your tone, let the bassist do it, and all you have to have is to cut through the mix. Soldano's are amazing amps, covers all from rock to metal, passing by hc, I did have 4 of them, sound perfect with a band. They feature quality components. Not a surprise everyone copied it.

Super simple to do the xl mod on it. Just piggyback a capaitor. I did and it made a huge difference with the bass. Cost. 60 cents.

Here's a question for faq'n Friday... I have a Peavey Butcher cab with the gold logo and Celestion G12K-85's in it. I ordered a Marshall DSL100HR from Sweetwater back in dec. last year (still waiting for it). I was wondering if you think that head will pair good with the cabinet I have? I know Marshalls can be bright and mid focused. Just wondering what to expect when I finally get it and play through it. Thanks man

Edwards Lp models have the exact same specs as Gibson Lps. but they are only sold in Japan unless you get lucky and find one like Kyle did
