Here is my story, how I got my $500 red light turn ticket in California.
Please be careful driving in SF and Bay Area and the rest of California.

I got a red light ticket too. Also cost $600-700 with traffic school. But I pled not guilty and beat it in court!!!!! Paid $0 baby!!!!!!

Went back to intersection and timed the light. The yellow stayed lit for 3 sec when California Vehicle Code says 5 sec for 55mph. Showed judge the video and he had no choice but to dismiss it!

2017 Superior Court California ruled that red light cameras are not enforceable as long as you do not acknowledge the ticket should have just ignored it

Don’t ignore the ticket, they can not renew you’re license and it goes to a warrant. .

So what happened eventually? Did you pay the full amount? I just got a shot today (in Bay Area too) doing the same slow down right turn and thinking of contest... do you still think it wont work?

I have the same exact scenario as you do and i got a $500 fine as of March 2023. It happened to me on my first week driving for UberEats delivery. Since then, i checked every intersections i crossed and they have pretty cameras installed in all busy intersections in Los Angeles. The cities here are using these cameras as revenue streams which is so pathetic. I am stunned to find out because this $500 fine is ridiculously abusive. and i i would have to work for a week with UberEats just to pay this fine. I know someone in FL who got the same ticket and only have to pay $150 and i heard TX also charges similar as FL. What the fuck is happening here in CA, and why are we allowing this abuse of charges to happen to our own people by the city officials? I understand that camera should be installed to tract traffic violations but it shouldnt cost this much. This is abuse of power and taking advantage of the working hard citizens and saying so, camera should be banned if they cant reduce these fines.

They have to keep the fine high to keep people from running the light. Think about it, next to driving drunk, there's nothing more dangerous to do on the road. It kills people.

@@bobbyheenan4061 Paying $500 for minor moving violation is abusive. I was just driving very slowly and didnt put a complete stop on a red light when i turned right because i missed the sign, then i got a $500 fine because of the camera. Why is FL, TX and other big cities only charges a fraction of this amount? Maybe we have crooks, abusive and arrogant people in power who work for the cities and we have to deal with them.

@@bobbyheenan4061people run regardless, I was at a intersection on red one time and there was a guy next to me wanting to turn left . When traffic was cleared he went through the red .

I got a ticket for this yesterday in the mail. It’s $569 and I didn’t come to a complete stop but I was also looking and the intersection was empty as well. I just don’t understand I see people do this all the time and the light never flashes on them but no right when I go through boom it flashes

Shykira Chao I have the option too but I’m not sure if I’m going to or not. I have till June to pay it though. It’s just stupid how people get tickets for the smallest things and then there are people out there murdering people but the cops are too busy ticketing people.

@@alexusadays dont i know it i felt like a damn criminal i took the class passed it which was super ez i took it on line got it dismissed and paid the damn court fee $142 this couldve been a warining no on coming traffic etc and traffic was still sitting til the light changed but i get it and it was a copper tht caught he came outta no where when i made the turn first thing i did was look in my rear view and sure nuff the damn cherries and berries on my tail lesson learn itll be ok i felt like a kid again going to the principle’s office lol it took me a while but eventually i got over it stay safe my friend 🥰🥰🥰
