What an amazing road test,I bought this car approximately 18months ago and its a delight to drive,just the sound of the motor puts a smile on most motoring enthusiasts faces,to me it's very special,the torque is amazing,you don't need to wring its neck to pass cars in the country and it feels very solid .

I see lots of gt3 badges...but not gt3. Like putting typeR badge on a civic dx.

M Performance I will never put any gt3 badges or stickers on my 996 even if it has every gt3 parts except for Mezger.

Not really. A Type R or Civic dx are both rubbish. Both those Porsches are Porsches

Any idea what was done to the exhaust? Absolutely love the sound. Can't stop watching the vide simply because I can't get enough of its soundtrack haha

I used to own this car, its a Cargraphic exhaust, from the headers back through the rear Cargraphic rear mufflers.

Impressive piece of work. I suppose the engine's internals were also upgraded extensively to cope with the boost that the supercharger delivers?

I keep watching this just for that exhaust note. Did the owner mention what his exhaust setup is? I’m getting real tired of the muffler deletes on my ‘99 C2, which is also speed yellow.

No muffler delete. Cargraphic exhaust from the headers back. Cargraphic rear mufflers

Having owned a 40+ BHP supercharged road-legal racecar 911 for several years, I can tell you with some authority that turbos are better. Much better. You have to get high revs to get high boost nwith a supercharger. The Turbo surge each time you smash the throttle is superior in my view. And a lot more fun.

DEF better! WAY cheaper an way faster both straight line an on track. Only dif is u can't brag bout spending the extra 100 grand... dang it! Lololol who fuckin cares. Unless ur a rich dousche.. dont think any gear head would give 2 fucks bout that part.

the 996 gt3 has a mezger dry sump block, this is not anything like a gt3.

JT Chua I had never mentioned how the engine was “like a GT3”. The car drives like one with all its GT3 components and even is fitted with GT3 exterior parts however at a fraction of the cost it is certainly a formidable option for people looking to buy a performance car bargain. I have also owned a Speed Yellow 996.2 GT3 so I have a thorough understanding of how they differ.

JT, in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne carbon fiber trimming and GT3 kick plates qualify the car as a GT3. No technical specifications were discussed whatsoever. I presume it's a low PSI kit; hazard a guess at between 4-6.

Fairly certain it sounds so good like everyone says because that's a real GT3 mezger engine with a VF supercharger. The M96 C2 engine is a much throatier deep sounds and doesn't rev that high like he said in the video 6....7......8,000rpm. The M96 red line is 7,000. Those brakes are GT3, the GT3 badge everywhere including door sills and Tac....

Nope you're wrong. I owned this car. It's a standard M96 3.4L with a Cargraphic exhaust. Plus the VF supercharger of course

I’m sorry but I’ve got a 996.2 manual not god himself could make it better than a gt3! They look the same but that’s where it ends.

Except for it won't hold its value like a gt3 and the m96 engine isn't anywhere near as strong as the gt3. Nice video tho.
