That chippy's story should be taught in university business schools. If you want to stand out from the crowd and become something special, then put in the effort. Make cracking home-made pies, spicy chips, posh fish burgers, smoked halloumi & dip, etc. I wish I had a chippy like that next to me!

I’m from Yorkshire and typed in Yorkshire food to see what would come up and I found this gem. I’ve been living in the USA for well over a decade and can’t find good fish n chips! Even fish n chips at the beach sucks compares to this. Baffles me because Americans would go crazy for the British stuff! Keep up the great reviews Danny 👍👏👏

Been for the second week running. First week had the fish cake with cheddar and chorizo, halloumi fries, scampi and dirty fries, no complaints, absolutely delicious. Today had steak and ale pie and chips, posh fish butty and dirty fries again, absolutely gorgeous! 40 minute drive from home but sooooo worth it, definitely will be back!

I've grown used to anemic Fish and Chips in Australia. This was a sight for sore eyes. You just can't beat thick and flakey cod and proper chips.

OK, Danny, I used to buy fish & chips from there years ago when it was called "The Grey Seal" fisheries. Since the Hird family have taken over they have created a gem of a chippy. Another popular chippy in Halifax is "Brackenbed Fisheries" in the Pellon area of Halifax.

I like sweet corn, and I have never heard of anyone who did not like it. But the way you feel about sweet corn is the way I feel about green peas. I hate green peas with a passion, so I never eat them. But I do like chicken pot pies, and they have green peas in it, so when I eat a pot pie I remove all the green peas, but once in a while one slips by me and it gets in my mouth, and if I just feel that green pea in my mouth I spit it out and it makes me gag. I am 63 years old and I have never seen anyone who did not like sweet corn, but I do know a lot of people who hate green peas, including myself.

I really appreciate this woman being gluten free because I have celiac too. Especially for deep fried it’s great.

Dunno how Danny can gag at the thought of corn and maggots, then cheerfully put gravy on his fish.

As a kid growing up in Rhodesia, Southern Africa, my mate and I used to hang raw chicken carcasses from a branch of a tree. After a few days, and thanks to an abundance of flies, we harvested the maggots which where crawling all over them. We deep fried them in boiling hot oil over a wooden fire. Absolutely yummy. 80% protein and 20% fat. I reckon they would go well with chips but have never tried them that way. Never knock something what you have never tried.

I grew up in that area, and down the "ressa", local fishing pond in Thurnscoe, the lads used to keep the maggots in their mouths to keep em warm, so they would still wriggle around in the cold water...Eurrgh

Every bite you took made me want to come through the screen to take that bite instead of you! 🤣🤣 Honestly your food looks so so good that my mouth is literally watering 😋😋. The sound of every bite hits the taste buds hard aswell, awesome! 🙌🙌

Now then. That’s one classy looking Fish & Chip & Pie Shop. Impressive food served with a smile. Obviously a very clean and hygienic environment. The fact they have such a flashy menu board shows that they also keep up with todays technologies. Being near the school makes good business sense. It’s a shame you can’t eat corn Danny. Corn is rich in vitamin C, an antioxidant that helps protect your cells from damage and wards off diseases like cancer and heart disease. Yellow corn is a good source of the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin, which are good for eye health and help prevent the lens damage that leads to cataracts. I do understand your problem though. I have a similar reaction when I think about eating haggis. Great video once again. Take care.
