Janicerudeen210: I am not tiny either but size 12, 5’2” tall, age 75. I agree models are very small. Why I watch is to see what manufacturers are doing for styles this summer. And how this channel accessorizes with current additional items. I live in Colorado mountains and not near beaches. We dress a bit differently here because of altitude. If in morning, I may begin with a jacket over a dress, skirt,pants. Mornings can be in 40s. By noon, jacket is too warm and it comes off. I look best in sheath style dresses, no belt. But seasonal colors interest me! Coral, turquoise are great colors for me each summer for my American Indian jewelry collection. Think ‘Ralph Lauren’ influence. Sunset oranges, desert sands of Phoenix, AZ and denim skirts are worn in my area by many each summer. Deidre wears more island beach attire. Fun! I love seeing other parts of the world! Indian blanket prints are worn here in NM, CO, AZ, WY, Montana. I really don’t see many florals being worn in Denver or Aspen. But to watch gives me a great idea of other areas, if I were to travel there (again). Isn’t it fun we each have our own location and style? I enjoy watching. I’m not dress size 1 or 2, nor young. But fashion interests me anyway! I disagree with the other viewer. Yes, this channel is for us all. Because we are intelligent women here. We can adapt this to our own color pallets, styles, needs. Philosophy makes a gorgeous dress. The quality is so good. They have a nice weight to them which makes them hang perfectly on the body.

I love a simple linen dress for summer, especially a sleeveless, V-neck one. The fewer the details, they easier they are too iron!

If you stand in front of your dryer, to supervise, and place a linen item inside, I use regular heat, you want to check it every 2 minuets. There will be a time when you open the dryer and the item will be still wet yet warm and steamy. You then hang the item and use your hands to flatten and smooth the fabric. You gently pull on any seam that might have become raised and uneven, yolk, button seam, collar seams, etc. The trick it to remove the item way before dry yet pliable. Linen works well this way. This material will dry just as you leave it, smooth and wrinkle free. I hang items in front of a door in the laundry room and just run my hands over the material and pull gently to straighten out and seams. Dry cleaner quality without the chemicals.

@@palomino5223 I do this with linen straight out of the washing machine. Smooth with fingers and then air dry. It leaves a lovely texture. Personally, I never put linens in the dryer nor do I iron them, which in my experience destroys the fabric. Mine last for many years. XOX best wishes.

@@maryokeefe5351 That is great, I find linen gets more soft from the brief few minuets I take clothing in and out of the dryer. I have tried without dryer but creases from the spin cycle in the washer seems to be very difficult to release. I do feel sorry for those who iron linen though. Deal breaker for me. LOL

@@palomino5223 Youre correct about not ironing, watch anyone weraing linen as it should be and the wrinkles will drop out with body warmth.. They then settle around natural creasing with wear.. Its the whole idea for hot weather!!

no. All tanning is sun damage and is both ageing and an increase in risk of skin cancer.

I only wear dresses in the summer because of the comfort in the heat. My husband’s going to go nuts because I’m going to want more pretty dresses. When you were in Greece and you were wearing that blue and white maxi, I bought that dress, but in the knee length. I love that dress.😊

I wear dresses, or skirt outfits, nearly every day year-round, but especially in summer. I just don’t find any trousers, shorts, etc. nearly as comfortable. My summer go-to is a linen dress, with a breathable, lightweight casual blazer in linen or cotton. It’s nice to have a layer for going into air-conditioned spaces and for cool mornings and evenings or just cooler locations. My favorite shops are in a mall right on San Francisco Bay, for example, and it’s always windy there, so a light jacket comes in handy. Plus, I love the flattering structure of a blazer. Dresses/skirts forever, friend🙂

I love a white dress for Summer. I usually carry a light weight scarf when wearing anything white and drape it over my lap / down my front when eating out. It’s just enough to catch any drops of food and then pop it away in my bag afterwards.

I love that green print shirtdress, but $255 US is a lot for a viscose dress, even in the premium, environmentally-friendly viscose fabric. I’m guessing this brand, Aspiga, which is new to me, is not US-based, so there are a lot of custom duties built to this price. I have a generous wardrobe budget, but I can get a beautiful 100% silk dress for that price. I found a white, cotton-gauze shirtdress at Bloomingdale’s that I really like for around $100. Normally, cotton is too hot for summers where I live, but this breezy gauze isn’t, and it has a nice, casual look and doesn’t need ironing. I love shirt-dresses, but the ironing can be a lot of work, they have to be done in sections, allowing each to dry in between. Damp fabric just re-creases when handled. I don’t mind ironing in general, so long as I can stay cool while doing it, but some items are trickier, or just more work, than others. I have to do my ironing in the first two hours after sunrise before it gets too hot in summer.

Hi there. Thanks so much for commenting. I think the length would also depend on your height. So, for me, at 5'4", for example, many of these dresses which are shown to be mid-calf on the models would actually be maxi on me! I did try to find many dresses that were longer than the knee. Did you see the midaxi and the maxi length ones? XX

Hello Deirdre I’d love you present a programme for older women who are disabled. Not only being wheeled around ina wheelchair, but some of us who use a walking stick or the lack of confidence from loss of hair due to chemo. Nobody ever mentions a sexy walking stick as an accessory, with a lovely dress or trousers. How about giving disabled women a boost with fashion, we want to be seen as women not a woman who’s disabled. Thought of giving you a challenge. To go were others fear to tread. Thank you

To me, the most important factor for dresses, which I wear pretty much daily, is choosing a breathable, natural fiber. The summers are so hot where I live that almost everything I wear comes from my “summer linen capsule”, which I put out just in time for our first bad heat wave last week. It makes all the difference, especially for the many like me who don’t have central AC at home (California). Thanks for the video❤

I think all brands who sell several sizes should use models who are all the sizes they sell. Like if you click on size 40/42 you'd see a woman that size wearing it and so on. There are lots of models in bigger sizes and if not, I bet many plus size women would love to become models.

Nice collection of dresses. However, most of them seem to be rather short! Also, it would have been nice if you would have shown what could be worn with the dresses best for cooler times (e.g. cardigans, blazers, etc.). Unfortunately, it is rarely hot enough here in the UK to wear a sleeveless dress without any cover and I often have difficulties to find something that really fits well with dresses... Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks 🙂

Deirdre, I’m a huge dress lover and wearer. So I enjoyed this video. The TIERED maxi, midi and shorter summer dresses have been around for what, ~3 years now? I have accumulated quite a few as they are so easy and forgiving. But I thought they were likely to be a short lived trend but as it turns out, our Canadian stores are STILL showing LOTS of them. So I am beginning to wonder … are they becoming a staple? I have been very hesitant to buy any more this year because I thought they would soon look dated. Your thoughts? TIA

Lovely selection, Deirdre! Here in the U.S. we call those "tank dresses", as tee shirt dresses have sleeves. Personally, I would accessorize the blue dresses with silver, rather than gold, which goes better with cool tones. Thanks for another wonderful video! Have a lovely week! ❤

Loved the dresses, but caveat, I wouldn’t purchase Sam Edelman shoes in a 5, 5.5, or 6. All other sizes are probably the most comfortable shoes you’ll ever wear. They seriously are the goat.. Except for the sizes I mentioned of course, you definitely DON’T want those ones.😂😂😂❤❤

only the high end ones look good. From my experience the affordable ones are all heavy and unflattering and end up looking like a uniform for a prison laundry or something lol
