The problem with this test isn't about the pianos, it's the acoustics of the room and also the basic limitation of a microphone that can't capture the full range of the sound they make. A large concert piano like the D is meant to throw lots of sound in a large space. It's not going to sound hugely different in a small room, but you put the smaller pianos up against it in a real concert hall and listen to them from far away, especially with an orchestra playing, and you'll notice a huge difference, because you would not hear a smaller piano very well over the other instruments in a concert hall.

And not to mention the speaker that you play it back on. If you're using a good quality earbuds versus just your phones speaker. But there's no way to know how they tuned the original recording, mic placement, location of the pians, it's a very poor example of what was heard.

It’s funny because you actually hear the most difference in the bass notes. La Campanella is probably the worst choice to demo the differences. The model D is 9 ft long but the extra length is only needed down low. String length on that top Eb is likely the same on all of them.

That is what I thought I could hear as well. The first one, the high notes were warm and clear but not very powerful. The middle one seemed very chirpy and loud but not as pleasant. I wouldn’t use Campanella to tell me about a piano. There aren’t enough bass notes. That’s where the biggest difference will show in the various sizes. The opening of the Grieg Concerto uses all registers, including all the way down to the lowest A. Campanella does tell you about action, however. Pianos sound more similar in the highest registers and the most different in the lowest. Just saying.

They’re made really well, but tbh, at a similar price point, you’re way better off either buying a Shigeru Kawai or a Bösendorfer. At this point, Steinways are like the Lexus or Audi of pianos - they’re quality and they’ll do a great job at getting a job done, but you know better is out there.
