i do rarely find these 50p’s in my change. i think coin collecting has become so popular that a lot of them are being kept rather than being kept in circulation

I would have kept the same coins as you CP. I do have a soft spot for all the BP 2016s though and find them hard to part with .

To answer the question ask yourself this, did you acquire them to enjoy them for their designs or because you think they might at some day have intrinsic value. If its the latter, spend them on low value purchases, rather than use a credit card. Iv considered £2 coins for their designs, using the common ones to pay for utilities.
