This viewing of your carving work is at least my second and maybe more. The script and message is attracting and I want the message to be a reality for my country. I also wanted to say that yours skills, tools, business acumen all around is why I watch and pay close attention. You may not have the glitz that attracts those who attract artistry in action but, you cover all the bases for me. I'm slowly learning from you but not on a deadline. All my days were written in the LORD's book before there was not one. So I keep carving through each day watching those like yoursleves who set the stencil and put out the product. A Very Many Thumbs UP and New Subscribers to you. You are the best I've seen in this category overall by a Longshot . Sincerest Thanks! thomswen

I am truly amazed by your steadiness of hand while cutting curves. Actually all your cuts. Here’s a question for you, instead of hand sanding to remove the black paint, why not use a drum sander with 80 or 120 grit? Also, I love how you painted the grooved edge, then sanded off the flat top so you ended up with that painted edge. I am so new to sign carving that everything you do is helpful. Many thanks from a novice in Oregon.
@oldave100

So glad we could help Elling! We don’t use a drum sander because it would take quite a bit longer, and If the board isn’t completely flat you’ll get an uneven sand.

Great job pal. I have a question for you. Sometimes when I'm routing pine, the piece gets hard and soft. It's like some part of the pine wood is harder and and I can't keep a consistent pressure. Any tips ? appreciate it in advance
@oldave100
@oldave100 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you... on pine sometimes the grain itself can be hard but in between the grains will be soft. Make sure your hands have contact with the router and the board at the same time. You may even try carving shallow first and then deeper on a second pass. Here's a video that might help. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y7qhbNar0LPKc2g.html If you have any other questions please email me eric@makeawoodsign.com, Thank you

what tools do you need to make signs out side a router think o f starting a wood sign shop from home
@oldave100
@oldave100 2 жыл бұрын
Besides the router is the correct router bits. If you use the wrong bits it will be challenge. Wood selection is critical as well. You'll need some kind of saw to cut your boards to size. You'll need at least 1 sander as well. Good idea to also have a drill. If you have any other questions please email me directly, eric@makeawoodsign.com. Thank you...

Very nice. Quick question. The letters look different from 11:51 to 11:52 when you begin the to spray. Did you make additional passes with the router to clean them out and get them smooth? Did you use the same depth across the entire insides of the letters or go slightly progressively deeper toward the centers?
