I bought 2 Chinese top handle chainsaw and they so far run great.. i got them so instead of cutting branches and then you got to pick them up afterwards... With the top handle chainsaw I cut with one hand and the other hand I hold the branch and if it's good size for firewood i toss it in the trailer... It is so much easier... and I paid $68 for the one chainsaw and the other one I paid $97 1 has 10" bar and the other one has 12" bar

I have taken the torch to the catalytic converter inside the muffler and opened it up to breathe better. Haven't had it in the wood yet to see if this helps. Your right about carb adjustment. That will have to be done again. Keep your stick on the ice and thanks!

@dfairfull2542 I sure hope you got all that material out of your muffler cause it’s just going to get sucked back into your engine when you fire it up don’t forget a two stroke sucks in on the exhaust a little bit as well you’re gonna pull all that stuff inside the motor if you’re not careful and destroy it.

Right on yes it should be a great saw for you but it does need to be tuned right to make it run 100%. You need the special tool to adjust the carburator but once it’s set it should start and run fine for you as long as you mix your fuel/oil the same every time. These saws act like a high end saw and do not need to be tuned everytime you use them like some other cheaper saws. Did you get it on sale? How much are they selling for now?

Don’t get me wrong, the CS 310 is a nice little saw but you can get an extra 22cc at half the price if you get this Radley saw!! Looks like an awesome deal to me! I was in the market for a chainsaw as a new rural property owner here in NS, I kept reading that the Husq Ranchers were the saw to get. Rolled down to my hardware store (Home Hardware) to order one, the guy talked me out of it and into one of these Radley saws. Says he's sold 50+ and hasn't had a single one come back yet, and that guys are even coming in to buy another after they've gotten home and used it. Turns out the Radley was even on sale @ 150CAD, just gets better and better. Tested it out some fallen deadwood in the yard and yes, IT WILL CUT! Started up right away, ran real smooth too!

Right on thanks for the compliment! I think that was actually the first video I ever made where I was talking to a you tube audience glad you liked it. Ya these 52cc clone saws are really catching on. I read that they were cloned off a pro saw. It’s crazy how good they are for the price. It does depend who is building them though it seems. For instance these ones come with the Oregon bar/chain and it does come from China even though Oregon has a factory in Canada but must be easier/cheaper to assemble it all over in China. I’m going to do another review on that saw soon to let people know how it’s holding up and what I think of it.

I have the Radley bar, my original chain is getting short in the tooth . I’d almost given up on finding a 76 Drive link, .325 pitch, 0.58 gauge chain. Happened to be on the Home Hardware sight yesterday, they’re finally carrying them and not only that, there’s a big Radley sale on, they’re half price @ $11.50 now. Picked up two. The saw came with a made in China Oregon, these look the same.

@Gump Redhouse. Great info! I know mine the one in the video had a China/Oregon chain and it was very high quality lasted for 2 years of heavy cutting. I looked at the newer style bar/chain and it was anodized black vs just regular metal colour but the Oregon chain mine came with had blue links as well. Any saw shop can make you up the chain you need or you can go to the link in the description of this video and it has chains you can buy off Amazon. I think the link I posted works out to 12 bucks a chain or something like that. Were the Radley wood splitters on sale?
@cdnpicker
@cdnpicker Жыл бұрын
My stock chain has life left in it but ran across a nail in a tree I was taking down, I now have a pseudo skip tooth 😀. I know what you mean about the Blue links, I think Oregon say it’s extra hardening or something. The chain that came with the saw was in Oregon bag but definitely didn’t have the Blue links. I think that the ones that I just bought are the same chains in Radley packaging. For $11.50 you should buy one, I have to think that there’s enough adjustment room on the 78 Link bar to mount a 76, really, one link difference bottom and top, it will stretch too. It would be good to know how it compares to the one that shipped with yours. I was going to get the local guy to make me something a bit more aggressive, I’ll see how these ones work out. I continue to be really impressed by this saw. They’re up to 175 when they’re on sale but it’s still a heck of a value.

It’s hard to say. These call for 50:1 fuel/oil ratio. I run 40:1 in mine so I had to tune it but at 50:1 they might run ok. All saws need to be tuned though for different temperatures and elevation however these saws seem to run really good all the time I rarely touch the mixture screws on this saw. Going to buy one of these based on your review. Will swap in a milling chain and see how it holds up on a small sawmill. Have been running saws for a lot of years, still have my Husky 40 and my Dad’s way old Craftsman. Politics aside, the Chinese have the capability to build product that equals, and sometimes betters anyones, but also the pragmatism to meet customer price points. Time will tell how well the core metallurgical components stand up. Not sure if you’ve talked about fuel and oil types. I run high quality premium gas and jaso m345/fd level oil at 40:1 not because I like spending the money but it gets the most out of the engine and just saves so much trouble.
@Indeewoods
@Indeewoods 3 жыл бұрын
Yes I never run any fuel that has ethanol in it. Shell V-power 91 octane has no ethanol and I have used that fuel for 20 years with zero issues. I run good oil as well. These saws call for 50:1 and I run 40 however they have a catylitic style muffler so i’m wondering if 50:1 would be better. It’s China made but the big thing is it’s cloned off a very good pro type saw. How long will it last? Not sure but at 150 or 200.00 I could buy 3 saws for the price of one brand name. I honestly think they will last as guys in the US are getting 5 years and they are still running but those are other “52cc clone” saws that are same engine as these but different plastic. I can tell you it runs 110% it is not hard to start and never ever acts up ( yet) but long term testing is needed. Milling is hard on all saws so would be interesting to see how yours holds up. Please keep us updated what you find with yours.

If you break it in right and do a couple heat cycles before you use it you won’t be disappointed. I just cut another cord with mine and switched the mixture to 50:1 and it runs beautiful but it vapour locks on really hot days when you shut it off then try to restart but lots of high end saws do that too. The stock chain is durable and cuts decent but if you know your way around saws I’d ditch that chain for a non safety chain it’ll cut much better. For the price of these things especially when on sale you’d only be into it for 190.00 with a better chain cheapest best saw you can buy in Canada. Make sure you tune the saw before using it or you risk damaging the engine.

If anyone is about to buy one of these please read my comment about the part number on the chain bag and update this. I've seen a lot of comments saying that the newer ones don't have the Oregon Bar and Chain. I have the newer with the Radley Bar, it's stamped KXB BU20-76-5812P. The chain is an Oregon, .325 Pitch, .058 Guage and 76 DL. I wish I had kept the bag, The Part number in this video is 21BPX078X, I imagine that the new ones are 21BPX076X. There are lots of off the shelf choices for 78 DL chains, almost none for 76 DL. If the only difference is that the new chains are two drive links shorter, is there an reason that a 78 Link chain wouldn't work? I'd have to think that the adjuster has at least that much leeway. BTW, the Parts Listing in my Owners Manual still points to the 78DL Oregon Bar and chain.

I purchased one of these saws and hop it stand up. The questions about the 78 or 76 drive link appears to be because of the bar change. Mine had the Radley bar instead of the Oregon and measures at 18.5 inches from the front of the saw which rounds up the the advertised 20 inch bar. The Radley bar will not move out enough for the 78dl chain. The Oregon 76dl chain for this saw is the 21BPX076G which is compatible fit chain with Stihl - 25RM3 76 Husqvarna - H25-76. Radley and other products for Home Hardware and CTC as well as may be found at www.mecanair.net which lists Products and Part Numbers. Selecting the HH logo, OUTILAGE and SCEI will bring up this saw. @Indeewoods
@Indeewoods Жыл бұрын
Yes it must be not adjusted right because during the summer mine is running in two pulls. In cooler weather or winter it fires in two pulls starts in 3/4 like any other saw. Try this for starting. 1- prime it 6 times. 2 pull choke to fully out. 3 don’t touch throttle or anything just pull start the saw. 4-it should fire in 2-3 pulls. 5- as soon as it fires you have to push the choke in/off otherwise you flood it. 6- pull until it starts should start in 2/3 pulls. 7- once it starts the choke is still slightly closed so the engine will run a big rough this is normal and you want to leave it like that for about 5 seconds then hit the throttle and it should come down to a nice smooth idle. Let it idle/warm up for 10 seconds then start reving it in short bursts to warm it up further. 8- start cutting. If it doesn’t start and run like this then you’re low end ( L mixture screw) it’s probably not set up right most likely it’s too lean meaning not delivering enough fuel. You need to tune the saw when it’s running so turn the low jet in until the idle starts to raise and then it’s gonna start to come back down. Then turn the screw out until you hear the RPMs come up again and just when they start coming down go just a little farther open than that and that should put you right where you need to be. There is more to it than that but I’ll have to make a video on that.

@@Indeewoods that is a great summary indeed! I think I was able to figure out the reason for not starting. I usually follow the old school rule to not mess up anything in a new equipment, but I guess this is no longer applicable to the modern equipment especially originated from China. Trying to find the problem, I removed air filter to discover that O-ring seal between air filter housing and a carb itself was not sitting in groves around opening but was rather jammed awkwardly in-between allowing dust and extra air to enter the carb. Long story short, I gave a nice blow to the carb, reinstall O-ring where it belongs to and voila! the saw fires up again on the second pull! So, the next time I will check the quality of assembly myself prior using to avoid such surprises. During partial disassembling, I was pleasantly impressed by how solidly and thoughtfully this saw is built (I have two other smaller saws, Husky and Jonsered, 38 and 42 cc, and must say that Radley is a much better build). Will see though if it will last.

Scroll down the comments a fellow was just saying he bought one and bar and chain looked decent. He has a video of his saw with a muffler mod as well. I looked at the new bar/ chain myself didn’t look bad but only one way to find out. I’d keep the oiler turned on max and let r buck! Lol

P.S just saw a dyno chart of 5 saws and one of them was a 50cc clone same basic saw as these. Anyway bang for the buck by a long shot the clone saw won. It wasn’t the best power but was lighter than some of the other ones.

Awesome ! Good enough to abuse ha ha I'll take a bit lighter for a little less power, more power than buying a $300 to $350 38cc husky lol
