56 Ford F100 • Part 2 • Bedside Hammer Forming
In this video, Mark continues fabrication on Thomas' 56 Ford F100 project. We're adding strength & style to the inner bedsides of the truck bed. This truck will be a full build, getting tons of fabrication, full paint & body, & custom interior. It'll sit on a "Fast Track" Roadster Shop chassis and will be powered by a 5.2L "Aluminator" V8. This is going to be a really cool build, so make sure to subscribe and turn on those notifications!

Lufkin tapes are super nice and a lot easier to read. Black background with bright green marks and numbers. Good for old eyes. 😉

I think the hammer forming works better then bead rolling because you're able to stretch the metal in the detail part. Less final panel warpage. You can pre stretch before bead rolling but it's time consuming and not guaranteed to prevent all of the warpage.

I use straight rulers for anything I can. Have a variety of lengths and always measure off the 1" mark. I also scribe all my marks but I'm probably 15 years younger so I can see those marks still, lol . I don't have the patience for sharpies that quit writing on sheetmetal.

Tape measures: Swedish made Hultafors Talmeter is the best by far. Has alot of features. Like build in scrape. Not need sharpie But only comes in metric

I use the Stanley 25' imperial tape measures all the time. $6.00 at Rona in Canada. I cover the first two feet in packing tape to protect the numbers.
